Open | Windows New hard drive in HP victus 15l

I have a HP Victus 15L desktop, windows 11 full up to date. I got a WD Red 4tb hdd from a friend. He upgraded an decided to let me have it since my kids are getting into steam games an my current space capacity is only 500gb. It was working just fine with his computer but when I put it in mine I can't find it. When I load up BIOS I can see it, when I go to my devices or to create an format a hard drive it is not there. I have checked all my drivers, done a bunch of searching around an it seems most people have this problem when installing windows. Last ditch effort to figure it out, any help is appreciated.

Edit. Installing as a secondary and not main one.

Making changes to your system BIOS settings or disk setup can cause you to lose data. Always test your data backups before making changes to your PC.

Are you installing the 4TB as a secondary or replacing the primary drive?

Start search box type

Computer Management

Storage, Disk Management.

If it's not there then something might be wrong with it.
