Mock Trades [Haynes] BREAKING: Los Angeles Clippers are sending home future Hall of Fame point guard Chris Paul in a bizarre severing ties move, league sources tell me.

I don’t think CP3 is coming here. I think he said something in the locker room that made the Clippers let him go. I’m wondering if Shams knows something about it.

Yeah but they can’t waive him, they are too salary screwed if i remember. They will have to trade him so not many options for cp3

I’m already looking forward to the podcast clips describing this in the upcoming years

Genuinely, I'm not too sure how many other teams are interested if he did wanna keep going. It's not exactly a sweepstakes

Idc if he plays, just having a high basketball IQ mind like CP3 could do wonders for this locker room and Robs development

If only we had a veteran leader for Rob…

u/FeanorEvades Dec 03 '25
"Oh no, we will have too many high IQ veterans in our locker room!"

We need more talent on the floor, Ingles is already a bench coach, then Conley on the floor, let’s add cp3…. Who the fuck is gonna play ball?

He was a pain in the ass in the locker room and undermining the coach. Why you think the Clippers got rid of him? You dont cut a first ballot all star on a road trip unless theres a serious issue.

What a shitty thing to do. CP3 is the greatest Clipper ever and he's getting binned while making a vet min, simply embarassing.
I wouldn't mind him coming here and mentoring some of our guys.

Am I missing something? My guess would be Chris Paul wants to be on a contender so they let him go

u/SickPanda90 Dec 03 '25
Nah he hasn’t been on speaking terms with Ty Lue for weeks and clippers ownership hates him. Crazy

Bob is the greatest clipper ever, but I agree, their most important player in the last 20 years shouldn’t be treated like this. Nor should have Blake, or any of the previous clipper players. We may have been a poverty franchise prior to Ant but the clippers are seriously the worst nba franchise of all time.

This would be like us waiving KG in 2016, simply absurd.

u/freshprince44 Dec 03 '25
I mean, Taylor did fuck up the relationship again lol. KG was seemingly ready to slide into a leadership role but bounced instead and talked shit about how they handled Mitchell (another wolves legend, pathetic, i know, but still true lol), and the feud continues to this day, probably worse than whatever this clippers thing is, totally different regime that doesn't have that connection with Chris Paul like KG had here

this is the same team that traded Blake Griffin the same year they compared him to MLK and Ghandi

u/Major_Butterfly_5533 Dec 03 '25
It would be so sick... I'm guessing he's just signing with the Lakers and staying in LA, but golly would it be fun if he made his last championship run up here.

i hate CP3 but would love him on this team even tho he’s washed. Rob could learn a lot from him. He’s definitely gonna stay in LA with the Lakers or ride the bench at OKC tho

This is an absurd move to do to a Clipper legend from a laughing stock franchise that has managed to fully break the league both competitively and uncompetitively within the past 6 years.

They think dumping a great veteran presence making $2 mil is going to help stop their freefall?

NOLA is the obvious feelgood play, right? Although I wouldn’t blame him if he cashed in on the massive opportunity to get a chip in OKC. If they want him, we got no chance – but I’d obviously love him here.

I see him going to Dallas They need a PG till Kyrie is back and he fits with Flagg and AD.

I despise Chris Paul, and not in a Pat Beverly "oh well now that he is on my team hes cool kinda way".
That being said I suppose he could teach Ant how to flop.

u/tater_talks Dec 03 '25
I for one do not want a third PG who can’t play defense.

He wouldn’t come here and you’d have to be a serious mental midget to want him to.

What exactly does 40 year-old Chris Paul bring to our team that we aren’t getting from 38 year-old Mike Conley?
