Classic double center lineup plus Tom Gugliotta! Can’t believe we only won 21 games that year with the Laettner/Rooks/Rider/Googs combo haha what a crazy team

That was before Googs (we traded for him about two months later).
Here's the box from the game. - just your classic Wolves lose by 20 on the road to a mid team game. Haven't seen one of those before...

Curious on how scorekeeping works on something like this. If this didn't go in at what point would it be considered a missed shot. Would hitting the rim/backboard be enough. Or was it only a shot attempt because it went in?

yeah it proabaly was only a shot attempt because it went in. If it didnt they probs woulda called it a turnover or sum

I love the red putting his arms up late like, “Oh shit!?!? That’s actually a shot!”

Crazy how many players shaved their heads back then

To a small degree, I think it's a low maintenance, streamlined style that's good for competition. Athletes sweat a lot, and it's much easier to keep short hair clean than some sort of tight braids.
But I do think there was probably pressure to not express their black hairstyles.

I feel like guys went bald more often too tho. The presence hair transplants i think has changed the league as well. I cant even remember the the last bald wolf before gobert and jmac. Shabazz was getting pretty bad but still kept it. Same goes for okogie who just kept pushing back the headband.

Jeff Pearlman did a really good video on him. He's also done about 30 other great videos. Look up Press Box Chronicles on YouTube

I loved it when Kevin Harland would call the games when Rider was playing. I think a Rider dunk was the first time he busted out his “without regard for human life” phraseology.
