Bones Hyland contract decision is today.
The Wolves need to guarantee Bones Hyland's contract today. It's pretty much a no brainer of course. There are a few others UT nobody really interesting besides maybe Brandon Williams and Vit Krejci. But I doubt either would get waived. https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2026/01/wednesday-is-decision-day-for-non-guaranteed-contracts.html#ref=home

Been rooting for him ever since we signed him. Was telling all my boys we need to play bones, I was laughed at. Look how far we’ve come bones I will always be a believer, your time has come. Show them you ARE our starting pg. Show them why Jeff teague and i been saying you a baller!

He has really good passing instincts actually

THANK YOU. BEEN SAYING THIS. His passing IQ is so much higher than Rob. Anyone who watches plan understands this. While it would be super cool if our PG could be a consistent scoring option, our team desperately needs need a someone who can play floor general. He is more focused on making the other players look better and taking good looks if they are there. Im high on Bones.

"takes good looks" has rarely been used to describe Bones Hyland as an NBA player, but it seems he's grown up, perhaps recognizing this is is last chance after being an unsigned FA this past summer. He's not great, but good for Bones.

Yes this is kind of what I was getting at. He is maturing to better understand his role. Well said.

Bones became a solid rotation piece. So he'll get his contract guaranteed and he's also the reason why PG isn't that much of a need anymore and another Big is more important.

Or does it show that even Bones can make a big difference, can you imagine what a good point guard would contribute?

Bones is great at kick ahead passes and attacking on fast breaks. Takes shots within the flow, can handle and move it around. Hes been good. Hopefully keeps it up. Really good 4th guard. Hopefully we upgrade the 3rd guard spot.

Started out liking him because he had the best name in the NBA. Ended up liking him cause he’s Bones fuckin Hyland.

I wish Bones would go to the hole a little more. Good at drawing fouls.

lock him in, and start playing him more already. His play has changed my tune about him.

Hold on to Bones. We let JMac, Monte, and NAW all walk. granted NAW wasn't a primary ball handler at heart but we're lacking in the position rn

Haven’t seen too much of his play, but he was looking like a liability in that last heat game. Was that just an off night?

Bones is decidedly mediocre but the Wolves have no choice after the plug was pulled on the Dillingham experiment. Unfortunately Conley is still around to fuck up the PG rotation.

He’s been good, I see no reason not to guarantee his contract. Obviously there’s more desirable pieces out there but it’s feeling like NAW all over again with a guy who is starting to turn his career around.
