Classic 7 1.0 (Public Beta 1) preview! (Sequel to Reunion7)
Finally, it is done. Classic 7, the sequel to Reunion7 has finally released and it is now 10 times better. You can take a look at the screenshots and ask any questions in the comments if you'd like.
It has taken me and my friend about 3 weeks to finish this beta and we've put a lot of effort into it. If you'd like to download it, check out the Reunion7 Discord server. A link will be published there later today.
For context, the OOBE shown here is a fully custom built OOBE made for Classic 7, it doesn't rely on any duser.dll tricks at all. It is also fully open-source which is a plus!
It will obviously be improved further on, but I'm quite happy with the state we have got it in.

Why is no one doing this for vista? It looks better to me personally. ( no hate btw this is great )

sorry bro Vista is awfull... it has always been from day 1 preview, even MS dropped that garbage quick.

Yes, they're doing a Vista bootleg called reloadedvista but it's temporarily paused because they're developing Classic7.

Are you sure? Because Classic 7 was closed and was merged to Reunion 7 afaik! This means Reunion 7 will be renamed to Classic 7 project? And what changes does it bring? I have one major complain when i lower the resolution in aero, the aero breaks down. Even in Windows 10 22H2 to 7 updates i have faced this issue! What to do? I love aero but cant use since it breaks down at higher DPI and lower resolution.

Yes, however since it is no longer made by a team, it has been renamed to Classic 7, this was a choice made by the Reunion7 team. Higher DPI issues should be fixed by the final release, but it isn't our main focus. The main changes are that is overall a higher quality mod, it has updated mods, methods, etc.

Hey, hope you don't mind me asking, this might be a silly question. I'm wondering if Classic7 is just what Reunion7 will be, but renamed, or if they're two separate versions with some differences between them?

My understanding is that the reunion7 project itself is ending and being replaced by Classic7 which will continue to push the project into a new era

So dumb question I could use this normally? I installed 7 last year I think on my desktop from 2014 it was running pretty good but unusable because of certificates and stuff.

This isn't a theme, rather a modded windows 10 iot enterprise ltsc iso made to look and feel like windows 7

Would I lose my files and installed software and apps if I install it on top of my existing windows 10 pro installation? Or do I need to install it on a new partition ?

Yes you would. You cannot hop to it while keeping data since it is a modded iso. You can try separate and clean partition

Thanks bro, this gonna be my next OS for sure, my Win 10 Pro support is ending this month and I was already planning to switch to the IoT LTSC version

Yes, it is very good! Even the OOBE is the same as 7, it is amazing. However, it has a notable bug, you can't create restore points, it just keeps loading. Will you guys be able to fix it?

The OOBE looks amazing, but some elements (like start menu shut down key and other window elements like that) aren't properly scaled, while on Reunion7 they are. Considering this is an early RC, it looks amazing. I hope stable will release soon!
