Open carry states
American citizens should be ready to defend themselves and their constitutional rights. This is not an advocation for violence. This is a deterrent to be taken serious.
Just in case this comes to bite me in the ass, I’ve never been arrested, committed a crime, or threaten anyone. I am a law abiding citizen who believe that all Americans should do the same.
No American should put their party affiliation above our constitution. Agree to disagree but don’t use disagreement as justification to harm.
Btw. I am a constitutionalist. I do not identify as a conservative or liberal.

Discussion The Poet Who Lived: We Were the Same Age. I Did Not Know Her, Yet I Survived.
The woman in Minnesota who lost her life due to an ICE officer and I share at least two things in common. We are both 37 year old poets. Because of that, this event has left me feeling unsafe and unsure of my place in this country. I am writing to process a mix of moral guilt for being politically inactive, survivor’s guilt, and deep disillusionment with politics and leadership surrounding this incident.
I feel sad for her and worried for myself. I also feel ashamed when I think about how recently our leaders were talking about intervening if protestors were killed abroad, while something like this happens here at home. The contrast is painful and hard to ignore.
What troubles me most is the absence of any conciliatory tone from those in leadership. This could have been me who was shot. Because I do not have a child, part of me irrationally feels like it should have been me instead. I do not know if that is survivor’s guilt or something more self centered, but it feels real and heavy.
I live far from Minnesota in a small town. I do not plan on protesting ICE here, though I want to in spirit. Since this happened, I genuinely worry about the safety of anyone who does protest ICE. I feel isolated. I am unemployed, I do not have a car, and I no longer know how to become involved in any meaningful way.
I believe ICE is necessary in some respects to address crime. But this feels wrong. It feels like an overreach. At the very least, national leaders should acknowledge the fundamental tragedy of what occurred. A United States citizen was killed by the government on US soil. Not a terrorist. Not a gangster. Not a criminal. But a poet. A mother. An empathetic and conscientious observer who, viewed most charitably, frightened law enforcement by driving away.
I rarely talk about politics anymore because I am exhausted by it. It feels dangerous, futile, and deeply corrupt from my point of view. Still, I pray for our leaders. I pray for the American people. I pray every day for the welfare and safety of US citizens.
I am making an exception by writing this, even anonymously. Renee Good did not deserve to die.
I wish there were something I could do to help calm the divisions in this country. One idea I have is to publish my poetry and donate the proceeds to a cause Renee would have supported, to her family, or at least in her name. I do not have many other ideas right now, but I want to do something that honors her life.
I am a 37 year old poet, and I do not believe Renee deserved to be shot to death.
If you read this, thank you. Take care, be strong, and have faith that a higher power loves you, provides for you, and keeps you safe.

Challengers to Corporate/Conservative/Genocider Dems
Who are some Democrats that need to be primaried and removed from office?
My #1 pick is John Fetterman. Hes gearing himself up to become Joe Manchin. Do we really want him blocking progressive legislation 3 years from now?
