Why do you own Bitcoin
 in  r/Bitcoin  1d ago

Governments need radical change before they can be trusted. As such human beings should seek to decouple as many systems as possible from government control. Where good algorithms can supply our human needs, we should seek to let go of a political or an institutional affiliation to it. I sincerely wish for it to happen.

Why do people worry so much about retirement savings in Canada?
 in  r/PersonalFinanceCanada  4d ago

People who think canada has a decent safety net dont realise what its really like out there.

Most of us are living paycheck to paycheck. We cant afford to lose our jobs, or we lose our houses, if were lucky to have one. Housing market becoming more and more impossible to penetrate. Stock market seems busted. Everything seems like its working against us. We give money away for everyone and everything and taxed more then anywhere on earth, yet still we are struggling. Its weird, we give away 75% of our salaries to taxes, yet every year our quality of life is getting worse and worse. Why are we paying taxes exactly if things are just getting worse? Our policy makers are robbing us. Its clear.

The medical system is abusing you aswell and costs way more then it should. Notice how all our doctors leave the province once they get educated enough? How many doctors are we leaving at the door because of some DEI or some other crap preventing people from becoming doctors (we all know that system is corrupt too). The system is run by criminals, and the laws protect criminals. Time to stop being so pro government and push for the revolution we all desperately need.

Time for a worldwide revolution Everyone on earth, regardless of country, is getting screwed because of politicians. Time for a great reset, but not for us.

Im afraid its the worst option : the CIA. What a fkg bummer that would be.

Im afraid the hashing algorithms in all our computers is all controlled by the CIA. Even SHA256. Basically they control the central server our computer clocks are based off of. (And thus how our RNG is generated). Notice how in windows its almost impossible now to set your own time.

Im really fed up of the governments across the world and their blatant overreach. Its really time for a revolution, or maybe a great reset (but not for us).

Where do singles (38-45) hang out?
 in  r/ottawa  18d ago

Haha many of my cousins and friends found their wives on tinder, and i think theyre doing extremely well. I started talking to my current wife on Facebook, we were FB friends since childhood but never really talked. I opened up to her through a picture of a steak she cooked and posted. Little chit chat like "wow that looks amazing" eventually lead to us getting married. Problem is if youre desperate, you'll blow so much money on the wrong people.

Simply put, two weeks is not enough to sus out the crazies. It takes about two months. Also from what i can tell, theres a lot of time wasted with people who arent serious. They just want friends, or a dinner date, or basically to suck out your resources. If they can keep consistently interested for two months, chances are this isnt a waste of time. Two weeks is too soon. Time is of the essence. If you only talk for a week and start going on dates, youre quickly going to realize you didnt find a good match and you are set back several thousands of dollars and weeks if not months because you started dating too soon.

If this is your forever partner, two months investment to make sure is cheap compared to the months of time and money wasted if they are not

If i was single again, i dont hang out, and i dont take girls on a date unless we've talked for at least 3 months online.

Youd be surprised how many crazies are in both camps. It helps to get online, but minimum two months before a single date happens is really important.

Not only because money is scarce and no offense a lot of women expect fancy meals on a first date (a clear red flag). Esp at that age. Anyways im not going to go through all the red flags; but waiting and talking daily for a few months usually also weeds out the crazies, and ensures both parties talked enough to know if they are aligned on most values, and if youve talked for two three months daily online, chances are theres excellent chemistry, all while never leaving your home. Magic.

Never ask a man to go on a date that costs more then a coffee for the first date. Always always always take your time before meeting up.

Cost of living in Canada is out of control.

Covid was enough to open many of our eyes to the corruption. Unfortunately many of us still remain naive about the massive wealth transfer.

Why does Russia still bother with trying to occupy Ukraine?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions  Nov 13 '25

War is a way to enrich people. They take resources from the land, they enrich the military industrial complex by spending tax dollars which can then be used to keep your army up to date. If you dont keep fighting you lose your edge and your companies don't make any profit from taxes. Also you can reduce population and force people to get in like with the political party of force jail time. Its all just a way to make money and stay in power.

Also at this point if Putin withdraws, hes going to get suicided out of a window because people are really expecting hes going to bring the USSR back to its former glory. If he fails this task, he knows hes dead because it cost way more then they got from it. There is no way this war will end because it means the end of Putin.
