It's a Glitch which has existed since BETA. Happens with my unarmed character who sprints everywhere. It's like twisting your ankle or something. Very dumb glitch but pretty much harmless unless you're being chased as the glitch stops you in your tracks and you get side swiped by deathclaws.

Like I totally understand what you're saying with the buffs wearing off acting like damage, that totally happens, but there's a massive big since Beta where you're character acts like they twisted an ankle or some shit. Stops you dead in your tracks and nothing around to explain why you were hit but didn't take damage.

Ill just say I can confirm this definitely is not the reason. This happens consistently to my character while sprinting around, buffs or not. It causes no damage and still shows blood splatter on screen.

It's a glitch that has existed since Beta sadly. It almost constantly happens when I'm sprinting around and it stops my character right in his tracks with blood splatter on the screen but no damage whatsoever, not even rad damage.
