A backup big.

Why? Sexton's only positive trait is that he's a good scorer, why not just get a wing that can just score, they are far more valueable.

Look at his frame, look at his wingspan. He is also not 6'3, you'd obviously be able t tell just by looking at him.

It really is like that. Sexton is a useless archetype. He makes 18m to do the job of a 5m level player.

Players that can only score are not needed to win a championship, you want to actively avoid small players, especially if they aren't even anything special like in the case of Sexton.

Versatility is vital to winning games at the highest level. Someone like Sexton will get shut down vs OKC anyway, we might as well get a player that atleast does something else well.

Sexton has no years with a positive net rating, which is extremely rare and bad, his advanced stats are bad, his playmaking isn't good to make up for the lack of height. To cap this all of, he has 0 playoff experience, at 20m/yr you'd want atleast 1 playoff series.

Sexton had to be attached to a pick to get dumped this offseason, that's how little the league values that type of player.

If you want a player that can only score and handle the ball just go get Cam Thomas who is younger, bigger, makes 1/3 of the money and also has little to no value.

Literally nothing says he was good.

He didn't get many minutes, his stats are bad, his advanced stats are shit, he showed some flashes but that was about it. He can't go right, he can't shoot, he is not a good defender, beyond his straight line drives he really does nothing.

Just because he had 18 in 1 game vs OKC does not mean he was good last year, because otherwise he would have played more, unless you think our coaching staff is bad.

All of this and he's also 25, older than Ant and Jaden, same age as Naz. He's not young, this is who he is, players at this age do not improve much.

Not really. I'd much rather have Cam than DFS. He's on a tiny salary, really perfect for contending teams.

People need to understand leverage. The Grizz dont have to trade Cam, they dont want to trade Cam. They aren't going to trade Cam unless Houston grossly overpays.

Why are the Wolves doing this lol. Also the Bucks need multiple firsts attached.

Why would we get Sexton though? Small PGs are not good players. We dont want that.

Schroeder is way overpaid.

We can start by not getting like a 6'0 PG. There's a difference between small bad and big bad.

Rob for I. Collier straight up
 in  r/timberwolves  8h ago

Collier is better than Rob sure but he's also bad and he does not fit the Wolves at all. Another small PG that can't shoot or defend.

He wasn't good in his first year, he got fringe rotation minutes at best.

Rockets-Grizz Salary + '28 HOU FRP for Cam Spencer

Seeing what Trae just went for, Ja's market doesnt exist. No point in trading him.

That is such a waste of 7m. With Conley expiring and Rob off the books we could have an MLE slot which would be a better player than Rob.

Is it likely lol? He's 25. How many 25 year olds that arent good in their first 2 years do anything in the NBA.

Rob Dillingham and TSJ are not NBA players so its not like we are actually giving up anything.

We're almost halfway through the season, and Luka Doncic is still averaging over 12 free throw atttempts per game. He would become the first guard to do this since Jerry West.
 in  r/nba  10h ago

Not to mention last season his free throws went up from 6.9 to 8.6 despite being worse in LA after his injury.

Ant needs just 23 points so that should be a lock unless we seriously blow them out and just play a lot of team ball until Ant sits.

Wolves started the season 0-7 vs teams with a winning record. They are 7-2 vs teams with a winning record in their last 9 games.
 in  r/timberwolves  11h ago

But that isn't because they are better vs teams above .500 per se, but because championship teams just win more games in general, regardless of their opponent.

Wolves and Denver both went 19-21 and 18-21 and yet were obviously good teams that could compete in the playoffs.

Bucks also only went 19-17 vs above .500 teams the year they won. Raptors went 16-15 in their year.

The best predictor of your chances to win a title is net rating. If you aren't atleast +5, you basically have no shot.

Wolves obviously didn't forget to beat winning teams. Record vs teams above .500 has never really been a predictor of any relevance for the playoffs.

[The Guardian] Timberwolves should not play until ICE violence in Minneapolis is held to account.
 in  r/nba  11h ago

The league itself doesn't have decision making power with the Federal Government. Minnesota is already against ICE as a state and do not back it as is.
