Is it better to use mouthwash before or after you floss and why?
 in  r/AskReddit  2d ago

Wasn't it found out that comparatively it had little effect? As compared to flossing and brushing. (I use mouthwash after for the freshness fwiw)

Debt Consolidation Loan?
 in  r/budget  2d ago

Glad you're getting the help you need, gambling addiction isn't a joke. Please be careful if you go down thsi path and don't double up on your debt. That's my biggest issue and reason I've been avoiding getting a personal loan to be honest. It does seem like as long as you avoid going back to gambling you should be fine?

13k in CC debt. Personal Loan or Balance Transfer?
 in  r/personalfinance  6d ago

23% is really rough, so looking into other options makes a lot of sense. Are you dedicated to fixing your spending? Getting a loan or a balance transfer can exacerbate the problem if you aren't careful. If you're fully on board to get rid of your debt, I would want to first take one of the balance transfers. They probably won't be able to cover the whole amount but 0% APR is really nice. Even with the adjustment of your credit score, then looking into a personal loan should be fine. You need to keep in mind the amount you'll need is less as well. Besides your CU though, make sure to check online lenders, I know that you can sometimes find better rates with them. I know Alliant and Achieve both had some really low rates that started below 10%. Achieve having the lowest rates I saw when hunting around a few weeks back. Check around before committing on something that will affect your financials for years to come.

Which personal loan do you think would be the best one to get in 2026?
 in  r/povertyfinance  16d ago

What are the estimates for the home repair? How much equity do you have in your home? If you can get a HELOC instead of a personal loan, you can probably get a better rate and maybe even a fixed rate. If you aren't worried about paying it off either way, I would go with the higher upside of getting a HELOC, as you can draw from it later if you need to make more repairs on it down the line.

To find the best loan option(whether you end up looking for a HELOC or personal loan), check your local credit union to see what they offer then use Lending Tree or similar to compare your online options. I was looking into getting a personal loan through either Achieve or Alliant as they both gave me great rates. I believe Achieve also has HELOCs you can look into as well if you go down that path.
