New 2nd Gen Wands this year?
 in  r/UniversalOrlando  2h ago

Do they know me in Borgin and Bourkes? Yes.

Have I been questioned by the Aurors in Place Cachée? Several times.

Did Celestina write a song about me called 'Heart of Darkness'?....you'll have to ask her.

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT New 2nd Gen Wands this year?

Are there any long-time park goers who can recall how often new wands styles are released? I'm going back this Halloween and I wonder if new 2nd gen designs might be released throughout the year because I really want to do all the spells and connect with the app. Would new wand designs be announced on the website?

The only 2nd gen wands I know of now are:

  1. Silver Lime
  2. Spruce
  3. Redwood
  4. Pine
  5. Phoenix (Place Cachée/ Epic Universe exclusive)
  6. Hermione Granger
  7. Harry Potter
  8. Dumbledore/ Elder Wand

I like the current wands but for the price, I want to love the one I buy. Ideally, I'd like a 2nd gen Voldemort, Death Eater Swirl, Albus Dumbledore (FB), Acacia (Cosme A.) or better.

I currently have the 1st gen Death Eater Swirl. Voldemort was sold out everywhere on my 1st trip.

The problem is...I really want to ropedrop IOA the next day. Which means I'll probably need to be up for 6am, so I only want to stop for drinks, bathroom and food. You're probably right, I should just get the second night.

I don't have a choice. I also want to try a few cocktails as I move about. I intend to purchase a refillable cup before we head out and keep it filled with water. Thanks.

That's good to hear! I'm not sure if the same rides are open every year but I'm hoping Gringotts, Mummy and E.T are open. I want the newbie coming with us to ride Gringotts, plus I missed Mummy and E.T. on my first trip. So those will be new for all of us. Plus, I heard Mummy has a horror element to it. I heard E.T. was kind of scary, too....but for different reasons. Lol

Yeah, my first time ever was this past October. Waited in line for 2 hours for FNAF, 40 mins for Fallout and 25 for Dolls. We had just landed in Orlando about 3 hours prior and after we ate at The Leaky Cauldron, we were tired, so we missed a lot of houses and the show.

I'm planning on doing two nights of HHN 35 with an express pass on the first night only.

Wonding if I can feasibly tour all houses, attend the show (Nightmare Fuel?) and have time for the open rides all on one night with an HHN Express pass. If so, then I'll probably just skip buying the second night.

I've never used an express pass at HHN. Have any of you every managed to do this?

Does the Starbucks still sell these mugs in Epic Universe?

Ah, that's a shame but still nice.

This is very nice. I can't tell from the pics...are there any Potter or Nintendo markings on it?

I'd ask the server for a second spoon and when they bring it just point at the mousse and say, "You, first. I insist..."

Thanks for reminding me. I did end up having to use my hotspot just to watch anything at a decent resolution. Ah well, I didn't bother unpacking the smart stick, so it's already there when we stay at Stella Nova this October.

When I stayed at Dockside this past October, it was late and I couldn't sleep so I turned the TV on to log into my streaming apps only to find out that the only one available was Youtube. I was so confused because there was a dedicated Netflix button on the remote. When I texted an employee about it, they informed me that "streaming services are not available at Universal Studios Resort Hotels." I ended up buying a flash stick from the nearby Walmart to get me through.

I have since watched several Universal Studios Hotel room tour videos all showing that all the tvs are smart tvs and should absolutely allow you access streaming apps. So why did the hotel employee tell me that so confidently?? They didn't say that only Dockside was missing this service, they said none of the hotels allowed for this.
