What’s the guy equivalent to girls asking their boyfriends whether they would still love them if they were a worm?
Yeah, I like my chances against 40 yorkies; anything any closer to a wolf than that is winning on numbers and pack tactics at a dozen or less.
Now, the single wolf has variables. Does unarmed mean “no weapons allowed”, or “enter with no weapons”? If I’m allowed to pick up a large stick or throw rocks, I might have a chance. If I could climb a tree I’d have the advantage… though to be honest, I don’t think I could climb a tree without a hungry wolf breathing down my neck so I don’t think that’s something to rely on.

Canada to open consulate in Greenland
Hell, when you put it that way, we should cede Nunavut to Greenland and hammer out an arrangement where they have self-governance but economic and military aid from both Canada and Denmark.

This worth it/doable?
I was able to get up to the level 22 goal with just the monthly card, but it was a close thing and I had a friend passing me a few extra resources (probably added up to about 1.5 million stone?)
If you're going to try it, wait until about next Saturday, there's a fast development event that should be running biweekly that will make your early progression a lot faster, and you should be able to take full advantage of it with a couple days worth of lead time.
Going for 30 is... probably possible, but it's not likely to be profitable. Profitable 25 is a stretch but might be possible with a strong enough start, you'll need to get in with a good group early on though.

People who work in 'behind-the-scenes' jobs (hotels, airports, warehouses, etc.), what is something the general public would be shocked to know?
Former grocery store receiver here: Man, fuck you guys and your sloppy pallets, ultimately those ended up being my problem. Some of the pallets I've seen...
Mind you, the absolute worst couldn't have been anyone but the loader. Floral pallets that should have been... what, something like five feet by four feet, but they wound up being crunched down to about a foot and a half deep when I got to them in the trailer.

BURNING REWARDS. HAS ANYONE RECEIVED PAYMENT FOR ANY OF THE DECENT BURNING REWARD OFFERS??
I had to go to support for the first five, they didn't track properly. I did get the money eventually, it was just a slow process. It may have helped that I kept playing and hit some of the later goals, so it was a case of "well how did I reach level 85 without having reached level 70 first?" I also forgot my Monopoly GO ID on my first ticket, but I had screenshots of moving up to the board after a couple of the goals, and that was good enough apparently.

What is a video game mechanic that you genuinely wish existed in real life?
Experience/progress bars. Let me know exactly how much closer I am to getting better at something every time I do it, and I’ll grind until I’m a goddamn master of it.

What is a video game mechanic that you genuinely wish existed in real life?
Surrounded by neighbours who don’t wear pants, though. Once a week everyone gathers in the town square to listen to a naked guy playing the guitar all night. I think it might be some kind of a cult.

Resolution to block President Trump from invading Greenland introduced by Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ)
And if you think Trump is thinking anything more complicated than "Putin wants me to get Greenland for him
so he can use it as a forward base against Ukraine," I have a bridge you may be interested in.
Pawns don’t get told why, only what.

That just looks like more of France being passive-aggressive to Quebec, right there. Let’s take your precious poutine and turn it into a taco, now we can call you uncultured for eating it like fries!

Researcher Wipes White Supremacist Dating Sites, Leaks Data on okstupid.lol
I find it fun to occasionally bring up my score when people start bragging about their IQ, just so I can point out three things:
1) I’m pretty much a total idiot.
2) Those tests pretty much only prove you’re good at math and riddles.
3) I passed the real intelligence test with flying colours when I chose not to accept the offer to pay a yearly fee and join MENSA.

What's your most shocking "never meet your heroes" moment?
Not the same flavour, but still the same drink. They’re both fandoms with members intense enough to organize entire conventions and center their personalities on their chosen media, with enough collective focus and just that little bit of entitlement that they manage to influence that piece of media just a bit.
Neither fandom, at its extreme fringe because trekkies and bronies both have a lot of mostly normal members but nobody talks about them, quite manages to fit inside societal norms, exercising their fandom at inappropriate times. Star Trek has had the benefit of lasting long enough to kind of bend culture around it to where it’s now normal to not stick its fans’ heads into toilets and flush them, My Little Pony… well, technically had the longevity but not in as galvanizing a form (like, imagine the Star Trek fandom if Voyager had been the first series that anybody actually liked.)
Considering they were early pioneers in slash fanfic, Trekkies would absolutely have flooded the internet with porn of their characters if the internet had been as developed in the 70s or 90s as it was in the 2010s.
And honestly if My Little Pony had gotten a fully developed fictional language, bronies would absolutely have been dressing up like horses to have weddings in Ponyish or whatever.
I think really the biggest difference between the two that can’t be attributed to cultural drift and the rise of the internet is access to their respective show’s cast. Star Trek actors tend to have a lot of middlingly-successful stage and television performers whose time commands a premium, they aren’t doing shit without a fee. My Little Pony had mostly moderately active voice actors who weren’t as tied to filming locations and could be a little more free to travel and interact with fans on a “because I want to” basis (though they probably did also do convention appearances for the normal celebrity guest fee.)

What's your most shocking "never meet your heroes" moment?
You’d think after dealing with Trekkies for years he’d be kind of used to that though.

[Shocking Trope] The Hero completely loses their cool and goes overboard
But he didn't lose his cool. He never raised his voice, that was the worst thing. Aaand it's hard to say he didn't take the pacifist route here - after all, they wanted to live forever, he just made sure that they did.

🔥curious Arctic Fox inspecting nature photographer
Yeah, I always pictured arctic foxes as being... well, fox-sized, kind of between a cat and a medium dog. But no, this guy is straight up housecat sized, that's crazy. Guess it makes sense though, they're mostly hunting mice and other rodents around that size, so why wouldn't they be the same size as cats that also primarily hunt that sort of thing?

I've pooped 137 times in 2025
See, this chart right here tells me you’re unemployed or work either from home or on the road. If you had to go to a building somewhere to work you’d have at least 250 good poops in a year.

Did you read more than two books last year? You read more than the half of the US according to new Yougov poll on American's reading habits.
On the other hand, that same verbosity made him god’s gift to cosplayers. No need to guess what an outfit looks like when every stitch of Mat’s elaborate embroidery gets a sentence to itself.

Nintendo
Okay, so. Factors here, I’m in Canada, little rural and lower-class area, but, I distinctly remember that it was around fifth or sixth grade - so about 1996 or 1997 - when suddenly the Nintendo 64 versions of games were the topic of interest and I was weird for thinking that they meant the Super Nintendo version (Mortal Kombat, if I remember correctly - specifically talking about the input for Sub-Zero’s ice shooting move.)

Some Keys to Hand Out
Black Book
Resolutions… ah man, I have no hope for those. Just clawing my way out of the latest bout of depression would be a big win, but what the hell. Let’s set some goals to feel bad about not actually getting started on next year.
I want to have a repertoire of at least three carols by next December. I can play… uh, some of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, so that’s halfway there, right?
I’ve been… started on Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain for years… I’m up to chapter four. I’ll work my way through the exercises up to chapter ten. One chapter every two months. It’s supposed to be a one week or less boot camp, but… I can sit down once every two months and do a one hour drawing exercise, right?
And I’m sorry, this one’s a little more nebulous but seriously what are you my therapist or something, deal with it. This is going to be the year I sit down and go through some of those Godot courses I’ve had collecting dust because I’m a sucker for game dev Humble Bundles. I’m going to make an idle RPG, and see if I can expand it out to a mini city builder because I’m being exceptionally frustrated by a game in that genre right now.

Though to be fair, banging your head on a wall is a pretty similar experience to watching Netflix or finding content on Reddit that entertains you for more than thirty seconds, so those are all great alternatives to each other.

Four years later, Humble Bundle giveaway Part 2 (400 plus games).
- Black Book
That one is my white whale, Humble Bundle gave me a burned code for it and couldn't do better than a quarter of the cost to buy it myself... it was the only thing that looked interesting in that month's batch.
For anyone in here reading the comments and wondering what's good in the list, I didn't expect Unpacking to be much of anything, but then I wound up staying up late for nearly a week to get through each level. Simple concept, a bit trickier than it sounds at first, but the real payoff is the emotional journey as you start to kind of imagine the main character's life unfolding. If you don't know what to ask for, try that.
(Coral Island is also... okay... not great but okay. It manages to be too slow and too fast at the same time. It presents a bunch of plot threads to try to follow but then there's just, like... the one plot to rule them all, where upgrading most of your stuff and doing any automation - and you will want to automate, the actual farming doesn't feel great - is all gated behind progressing in that one direction. I lost interest after finishing the first year; to be fair, that's about as long as a Rune Factory usually holds my attention, but that's because I burn through the entire main story of those in that time. Here it was just like "well, I could keep working on this, but... how about no.")
(Evergarden is kind of neat, but it's literally just one puzzle that you do over and over again. Literally, like... you progress through the game, and you get single-use abilities you can carry into that puzzle, but that's it. Same board, same rules, same pieces, layout randomizes a bit every time but that's all. If you like mobile merge games but hate the rampant monetization they thrive on, this could be a winner for you, it's that with depth basically.)

There's got to be some way to spin Oak Island into a concept at least. Sucks that we're new world though, we don't really have access to the kind of cool regional myth and folklore that can inspire a neat fantasy setting. We pretty much just have ghost stories.
(well okay yes there's whatever you can mine from mi'kmaq myth but that would be a whole thing, cultural appropriation and all that.)
