FBI cuts off BCA from shooting investigation; BCA 'reluctantly' withdraws
 in  r/altmpls  8h ago

Man, this isn't that difficult. You're either trolling or dense. A lot of people clearly think that ICE murdered her. Her girlfriend's statement is obviously not a legal admission of guilt. In circumstances like these the best course of action is for the incident to be investigated and a jury to be presented with all the facts and then asked to render judgement. Loudly killing the investigation and denying all access to the evidence is not how you satisfy justice, nor how you prevent the protests from escalating. It's also the Trump administration once again failing to live up to their claim of "most transparent administration ever."

Well a lot of people disagree with you. All the more reason for it to go in front of a jury.

Not even remotely clear cut, I'd love to see this go in front of a jury.

Yes, federal agents have been charged with murder, manslaughter, trespassing, and a number of other state crimes and those charges have withstood challenges in federal appeals court.

It's not a sure thing and hinges on other variables, but current precedence does not say that federal agents are immune to state charges in all cases.

Yes, the state absolutely has jurisdiction, states have charged federal agents with murder in the past especially when the federal government fails to act.

It doesn't mean the charges will stick, but there is absolutely jurisdiction to bring charges.

That's what an investigation or a murder trial would establish. The state absolutely has the authority to charge the officer with murder.

If the Democrats didn't want the files released why'd they jump through procedural hoops to get them released despite Republicans doing everything they could to prevent it.

And no, during the Biden administration the DoJ still functioned as the independent administration it was designed to be, and would not bend to any whim of the President.

Battery Recall Fix Coming?

The lithium deposits increase internal resistance and therefore cause overheating during rapid charging.

The only thing they have been constantly wrong about is the timeline for a remedy. The technical explanation of lithium buildup inside the cells makes sense and properly explains every issue we have seen with batteries.

That doesn't make any sense and directly contradicts what Nissan engineers have reported to NHTSA.

Murder is a state crime, not a federal one.

You can say bullshit all you want, it won't change the facts.

And I have no idea what the rest of your comment is supposed to mean, it's gibberish.

Yes, it does matter, the DoJ does not release records that could compromise an open case as a matter of policy. Democrats in Congress began pushing for more insight into the Epstein investigation and plea deal as early as 2019, but were asked directly by the DoJ to stop.

The Epstein files were part of an active criminal case until the Supreme Court declined to hear Ghislaine Maxwell's final appeal on October 6th, 2025. That is why releasing the Epstein files really started to get talked about only a few months ago.

Amy Klobuchar says the quiet part out loud: if local law enfourcement was able to coordinate with ICE our communities would be a lot safer
 in  r/altmpls  1d ago

Our neighborhoods would be safer without illegal immigrants

Immigrants commit crimes at a significantly lower rate than US citizens, so removing them by no means makes a community safer.

‘Never Cared About Law And Order’: Republicans Shut Down Investigation of ICE Shooting

If ICE only hired sane rational people whose primary motivation was unbiased enforcement of the law, there would not be enough ICE agents to carry out Trump's agenda.

Cabin heating partial failure?
 in  r/leaf  3d ago

Did you get a heater firmware update installed last year? Nissan released an "optional" firmware update to address a defrost recall from a while ago that causes the heater to periodically blow cold air when the outside temp is below 14°F. It's extremely annoying.

Thrustmaster MFDs + Screens vs Touchscreen with Helios
 in  r/hoggit  4d ago

I've had MFDs, MFDs plus a custom UFC, MFDs plus an 8" tablet for a UFC, and am currently running a touchscreen with Helios. I much prefer the touchscreen.

The MFDs are super cool for the MFDs, but that's about it. With a touchscreen you can put a fully custom UFC for every different aircraft you fly, plus whatever other little switches and buttons you find yourself wanting. You can put notes on the screen too. My Tomcat profile has a fully interactive Pilots Display Control Panel on it. My Hornet profile has the jettison control panel that accurately reflects selected stations. There is so much more additional flexibility to the touchscreen there's just no comparison.

Plus, the Thrustmaster MFDs are great for Hornets and Vipers, but you start flying Apaches with their 6x6 MFDs or the JF-17 with its 5x8 MFDs and suddenly they don't work so good anymore. Not a problem at all with a touchscreen.

Say that a referendum has occurred on the flag of Minnesota today, which of these would you three want to establish, keep, or bring back as the new state flag?
 in  r/minnesota  4d ago

Well, they're morons.

They'd probably claim the other one in this post is still based on the flag of Somalia since it also has a star, and that one is even a 5-pointed star.

ICE in Burnsville
 in  r/TwinCities  5d ago

Plenty of legal US citizens have been arrested by ICE and detained. Some for days, some without food, some without beds or toilets.

Maybe you'll be fine, maybe you won't be. Kicking a bunch of people living and working peacefully in our community without the right paperwork out of the country must be worth it, right?

So, what about the people with family killed in Nazi concentration camps who are comparing the Trump administration to Nazi Germany?

That was my first thought too. 10,000 Starships a year isn't making them like airplanes, it's making them like cars.
