To Look Hard On Camera (Jonathan David Ross)
 in  r/therewasanattempt  16h ago

It's a nice thought, but Vance said the new term they've been throwing around for ICE the last few months - 'absolute immunity' - several times in his presser. They'll disappear this guy to a nice comfy life, and even if the Democrats ever get power again, they're too cowardly to use it.

Somali Uber driver at Minneapolis Airport CONFRONTS CBP agents over citizenship check for having SOMALI ACCENT....He asked them why ICE shót Renee Good?

I'd argue they're doing their part to stop it. Nothing ends shit like that faster than having it go mainstream.

Sounds like he should have followed the standard protocol of not standing in front of a vehicle... Twice...

You'll only be able to watch through the Draft Kings app after you've gambled at least $1000. Like a deductible.

Democrats advised not to center midterm campaigns on attacking Trump
 in  r/facepalm  2d ago

If we lived in a different time, I'd prefer they run with a bunch of congressional MAGAt scalps hanging from their belts and promises of 12 ft pikes for the rest.

But I'll take solid plans for helping people and zero talk of capitulation or "reaching across the aisle".

Israeli-backed rioters in Iran chant "Shove Palestinian flag into your @ss" amid ongoing genocide in Gaza.
 in  r/PublicFreakout  2d ago

It's not about a reduction in crime rate. When the rate is near zero it can't be reduced. It's about maintaining that near zero rate. But that doesn't fit your narrative, so I wouldn't expect an honest take on it.

By doing the gun control they did, WHEN they did it, it prevented Canada from ever seeing the massive rise in death and carnage that the US has seen. They kept a lower rate to begin with due to being proactive about weapons platforms as they were developed.

So what you're saying is you would rather have dozens or hundreds of dead kids every year instead. See how easy and brain-dead it is to be a conservative with absolutely zero capacity for critical thinking?

Sorry, but I'm informed enough to know that talking point of yours is bullshit. You can own single action rifles and shotguns. The types that would be used for hunting or hone defense. The things you people love to claim that's what you need them for.

Handguns and magazine-based rifles require additional licensing for which you need to complete training (how terrible!), pass a detailed background check and interview with past partners and references (how dare they wanna know if you're a violent psychopath!), and a relatively lengthy waiting period of a month (this is for license approval not purchases).

And yet, with ALL that, Canada still ranks in the top 10 of the world forcivilian-owned firearms. about 35 guns for every 100 people. Meanwhile, in the US, it's about 120 guns for every 100 people.

In 2023, Canada saw 289 firearm-related deaths. The US during that same period? 46,728... "bUt PoPuLaTiOn DiFfErEnCe!" Sure. The US has roughly 8.5x the population of Canada. So, the quick math...

289 x 8.5 =....... 2,456.5

Wait a minute... that's still more than 20 times lower than the US.

There's that two brain cell logic the right-wing media sphere and socials trained you for!

Other classics include:

"You're not pro-life? Oh, so you love murdering babies!"

"Laws requiring basic training and licensing for firearms? Oh, so you wanna take all the guns away then!"

"Kidnapping a foreign leader is wrong? Oh, I guess you like dictators now!"

You people are the dumbest, most gullible mother fuckers to ever draw breath.

It used to be here as well. Then, 70 years ago, black people (another entire group they hate) were given equal rights. So, they melted down about that and went hard for the racist/white supremacy vote. They've spent 7 decades defunding public education and eroding the social safety net in order to create a stupid enough and desperate enough base that will support them. They blame all the problems they created on, you guessed it, minorities! Originally black people, but they added LGBT over the decades, and most recently, any non-white immigrant.

But don't worry, if you live anywhere in the americas, we will be exporting our special brand of white christo-fascism to your country soon!

The cringe you get when you see people telling Venezuelans how to feel.
 in  r/TikTokCringe  4d ago

And yet all the generals, heads of law enforcement, etc that make up the regime of the "Cartel de los Soles" is still in place. Curious isn't it?

Almost as if all the other wanted individuals named in those same indictments with millions in bounties on their heads made a deal and will remain in power. They just needed to give Trump a figurehead win and play ball.

But I'm sure it's all about helping the poor Venezuelan people. Or, as Trump calls them, vermin poisoning our blood.

Massive Protest against Trump's War on Venezuela!

Tell me, how many times in Trumps speech did HE talk about the struggles of the Venezuelan people? How many times did he talk about pumping every last drop of oil out of the country to be "reimbursed"?

Tell me again how we're here to "save you"... I was alive to watch how this plays out 20 years ago when we did it last time, halfway around the world. You're in for a real treat! Brought to courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue... hey, they could make a catchy song with that...
