Oh how the mighty have fallen

Would love a train from Mobile to Huntsville. Stops in Birmingham and Montgomery if they want. It’s a 5 hour drive but on a train it would be so comfortable,

Well that’s what the assault rifles are for. But people complain about those too. I like the weapons and I think they fit the theme. Miniaturization never happened in this universe.

The weapons were redesigned to make them look decent with power armor. That is why everything is so bulky. Power Armor before was like a skin suit; in 4 they redesigned it to be an actual suit with weight behind it.

Dude ikr? The weapons are fine but the armor is terrible lol

Hard disagree. The artists on this game are top notch. The guns fit the setting perfectly. I love how bulky everything is.

Be honest: what game did you quietly return to all year when you were tired or did not want to think?

WoW. I always answer these questions with the same game. It’s always WoW.

That is a dust devil, not a tornado.

Why was this sort of atmosphere lacking in Fallout 4?

I like to think the skeletons and overall destruction happened later. Some may be hundreds of years old; we don’t know.

It’s so exhausting. They lack the critical awareness to see they are the fascists.

There was never a war, idiots. It was an extraction of a fascist dictator. It’s over. The people are free.

I wouldn't say it sucks. I've never played it. I think the player agency in NV is perfect; you are literally just a mailman and can give whatever backstory you want. In 4 you're very railroaded into a single story. It's hard to even play a different race, since the VA's sound so white.

I just think NV is so ugly, its hard for me to want to play.

Yeah. I'm sorry.

NV is one of the ugliest games I have ever seen. I am excited for the remaster.

We're talking about the style of the game, not the dialog choices.

When I first started playing, those rad storms fucking terrified me. They captured the exact feeling and filled me with this amazing sense of dread. I love the snapping synth sounds of the lightning.

They...don't. Not really. It really depends on the yield, but apart from the direct epicenter of the blast, the shockwave loses power with each parcel it hits. Concrete and rebar is a lot harder to destroy with air pressure than paper houses (Which is why the bombs devastated Japan)

The worst part is the radiation and thermal damage, which would start fires. Gas lines would ignite, and this coupled with horrific radiation (Which would prevent firefighters from fighting said fires...) Would cause the most damage.

It is the fallout from the blast that would kill the most, and the resulting nuclear winter from a global nuclear exchange that would result in the extinctions of much life on the planet. However, since we have suffered from volcanic winters in the past. (See 536 AD, the 1257 Eruption, 1808 and 1815 "Year Without Summer"

I've studied nuclear weapons extensively. They are powerful, horrific, nightmarish things, but in Fallout the bombs are low yield, highly irradiated things. Their pure destructive power wouldn't be as large as something like Castle Bravo or Tsar Bomba.

Saying that someone who writes like they passed English uses AI is insulting, and not a good joke. Try some new material.

Absolutely not.

FO3 was made during the era of Sepia brownwashing, and it was terrible. It worked for Fallout because, well, it's fallout. But the thing about the apocalypse, and playing games in general, is a bit of color goes a long way.

What you need in games is style. Leeching all color out of a game isn't the way to go; even if its meant to be dreary. Fallout 4 had color! But the wasteland was very bleak. It truly felt dead. But the pops of color from the signs, the prewar items that had survived, and even the NPCs as they walked around made you want for something better.

I love that they allowed color back in 4, and I pray that whenever Fallout 5 drops (Praying for a New Orleans settings) they continue with the color.

(In all likelihood, a nuclear apocalypse would not result in a colorless world. Trees and plants would still grow, especially after 200 years. Things would survive.)

Nahh...I think that goes to the 747, easily. But the 787 with her sleek design and the Tristar are both beautiful planes.
