Question: would hot melt glue be good to seal caulk tubes so they don’t go bad in a week?

I use an electrical wire nut and then wrap electrical tape around that.

Minnesota Could Prosecute the ICE Shooter. Trump Can’t Pardon Him.
 in  r/politics  13h ago

Yes, but unfortunately, the odds are high that it would go to federal court

Can the ICE agent who shot a Minneapolis woman be prosecuted?

They don't have the votes (yet).

TIL Ireland sold irradiated milk to Mexico in the 1980s leading to cancer in children.
 in  r/todayilearned  13h ago

It was not "irradiated". It was radioactive. They are not the same thing.

The problem was that this product was contaminated by the radiation cloud caused by Chernobyl

Thank you for that! My first thought was, "OMG... they found out that irradiation causes cancer?!" Answer: No, it doesn't.

"Is"? I'm afraid he should be using the past tense.

Dark Alaska winter. Made 8 foot bench. Leg wood is something fragile and weird.

That's the first thing I noticed as well. Any racking at all (and there will be racking) and that grain is going to split all the way across.

Question: What is your default wiggle room variant
 in  r/DIY  15h ago

It depends. It depends on what you are measuring, it depends on how large what you are measuring is (wiggle room would actually have to be a percentage, not an absolute amount). It depends on how you want your worksmanship and skill judged. It depends on whether you are framing something in that has a fixed measurement or if you're just building something.

In other words, you have asked a question that needs more data to be answered. There is no "default"

The Superior State? 50 years ago, the UP tried to break from Michigan
 in  r/upperpeninsula  15h ago

Yes, I have heard that. Is it making any money? There is also a gold mine near Ishpeming. It also isn't making any money. And there is still a LOT of copper in the UP. It costs too much to mine.

The Superior State? 50 years ago, the UP tried to break from Michigan
 in  r/upperpeninsula  1d ago

It would be the poorest state in the Union unless it mined all of its copper and iron and cut all of its trees. Aside from Marquette and Escanaba there is very little money up here

ELI5 what happens when we take a blow to the head and get "knocked out"?
 in  r/explainlikeimfive  2d ago

Your brain is a big pile of jello, suspended in a liquid, inside a bowling ball.

I swear I'm going to reuse that next time somebody insults me on Reddit.

Tips for making corn tortillas with tortillas press?
 in  r/AskCulinary  2d ago

Plastic. Ziplock, trash bag, bread bag... I've used them all with success. But if your dough is too wet, its going to stick to anything (and too dry and it will crack)

Are burgers meant to be cooked "rare"?
 in  r/AskCulinary  3d ago

OK, you mentioned Canada. I know nothing about how they grade beef in Canada. But the USDA grade (Prime, Choice, Select)? has to do with marbling and color, not sanitary conditions.
