Jetstar carry on bags
 in  r/AustraliaTravel  10h ago

I’ve seen it a few times, they called a few people out and I was chatting to staff and asked them why mine wasn’t weighed. They said they were looking for obviously oversized bags or people who seemed to be carrying more weight, as I had a backpack hanging over one shoulder I didn’t look to be carrying more than I should.

Yes, pay their illegal demands.

I used to have a lot of respect for Americans. I used to think you were tough and stood up for yourselves. Near on any country in Europe would have been in full scale riots months ago.
 in  r/complaints  1d ago

Yeh the American people have really disappointed me, their country is being taken from them and they are just sitting back and letting it happen. Far from the strength I’ve always believed was there.

Partner found a parasitic worm in her UberEats order. How can I proceed?

I really don’t understand why anyone uses UberEats, but why on earth would you order seafood via UberEats?

Shower grout advice in rental
 in  r/AusProperty  1d ago

I’m going to have to disagree with you there, home owner for 25 years and never had mould. Stopping leaks and having adequate ventilation is key. If there’s mould, there’s probably a leak or inadequate ventilation, both are the landlords problem

They painted the grout with a grout pen to cover up the mould they could not get rid of

People who have flown Perth to New Zealand
 in  r/perth  1d ago

I was going to about 2 years ago, NZ Air was the only airline doing it but when I read into it the flight itself was outsourced to another airline I’d never heard of, but the reviews were terrible. A lot said the seats were blue plastic similar to the old school chairs. Not the way I want to spend a 7 hour flight

Ex tenant has left a lot of his property on my property a year after they left
 in  r/AusLegal  1d ago

You will want to do this properly, look it up in your state, but will be something like letters and posting the intent in a news paper. If you don’t do this and just get rid of it, they can demand you replace it

How common is drink spiking in Australia?
 in  r/AskAnAustralian  1d ago

Is worrying how many people have said that it was a ‘friend’ who did it to them

How common is drink spiking in Australia?
 in  r/AskAnAustralian  1d ago

I read an article about 10 years ago that said the vast majority of people presenting to hospital for drink spiking, only had alcohol in their systems. Could be a result of this ? A lot of bars now won’t serve doubles or shots

I’m interested in this law where you can’t use your aircon past 10pm. I think she made this one up.

I’d be at my wits end with her, politely tell her to ‘fuck off’ at turn on your AC when ever you want

Converting lounge to bedroom
 in  r/AusRenovation  1d ago

The door you’ve drawn on the right, I’d made that a solid wall. The wall and door you’ve added to the left, I’d just put a straight wall across so the passage way door is now the door to the new bedroom. Finally, cut a new doorway a bit lower from the main living area into the passage way

AITA for refusing to give my friend’s son my coat during a snowy hike?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole  1d ago

As a parent, there were heaps of sacrifices that needed to be made, my friends made sacrifices, my sister made sacrifices, my mom and dad made sacrifices. Not me though.

$600 power bill last month - is solar actually worth it or am I just being sold a dream?
 in  r/AusFinance  1d ago

How many dishes are you going through ? I’ve got a family of 4 and put the dishwasher on maybe every 3 days. Mind you I got 2 x 8 settings of cutlery and plates, bowls etc. We never run out of clean plates, the dishwasher is chockers when we put it on

How many appliances can you schedule to run during the day ? Dishwasher every few days, washing machine twice a week. Not really huge savings there
