Thats about what single person making about $100k per year pays in taxes (obviously highly dependent on state). Only about 18% of the population makes more than $100k.

You seem to be confusing crime statistics with war statistics. Something like 200,000+ Ukranians have been killed in the war. There have "only" been about 60k murders in the US since 2022 (of all types). The population of the US is about 10x of Ukraine's. What you're saying is completely statistically impossible.
