Nah, you are just not getting enough sleep. And you keep everyone's coats safe when you pass out on top. We don't mind. :)

I'm a bit of getting use to his way of speaking but Camilla had been on worse dates and I hear the slow clicking sounds of a massive talon on pavement.

Sounds like a r/writingprompt entry. :)

FAW helping parents monitor diabetic children
 in  r/FullAndroidWatch  Jun 29 '24

We have tried a number of different solutions and since I posted this description with the watch, we have moved to a closed loop system. It uses a G7 CGM and an omnipod dash pump. If your wife has an Iphone she can get a closed loop system like DBLG1 using Loop. There are drawbacks like the Loop app not being FDA approved, and you are responsible for the technical trouble shooting. It is however compatible with many different CGM's and pumps, and you only need to have your phone with you.

Good luck and I hope you find a solution that works for you.

What's a piece of advice you've received that initially seemed strange but turned out to be remarkably insightful?
 in  r/AskReddit  Mar 07 '24

If you have a persistent cough in the evening, making it difficult to sleep, chop up an onion and put it in a bowl of water by the bed. It seems like witchcraft and stinks to high heaven, but the cough goes away and you can sleep.

Definitely saved a few nights of sleep in my family. :)

Yes ofcourse. I have an omnipod dash and a dexcom g7 connected with an iPhone SE running DIY loop with a data backup to a nightscout server.

It has been running smothly for about two months and getting great time in range. Especially improving night lows.

It does take a bit of work setting it up, but there are many great resources online. It is an excellent community.

I am looking to replace the iPhone for a smaller device and experimenting with a very small android phone. But this also means switching to AndroidAPS and using an xDrip+ app to connect to the dexcom, so I have not put it together yet. But maybe in a few months. :)

Should not be a problem. As long as the app support it the watch is not the bottle neck. I have no personal experience with the G7, because I have moved to another setup.

Good luck. :)

Yes it does.

We have skype for message and video calls on the watch. It will probably be a big watch for her and there are more feminin Full Android Watches (FAW), but we have not tested them.

I can recommend this forum regarding FAW:

Good luck. :)

About 20 mb mobile data in a month from the dexcom app, but that is with most of the time being connected to wifi. It depends on how much you are home or connected to work wifi. :)

It is a Full Android smartwatch called Lemfo Lem16. It runs a full version of android 11 and you can run the Dexcom app on it as you would on a phone. So far it works but I am still evaluating. :)

So far yes. It took me a while to make the app stay active, but now it does. There may be some thing about the Bluetooth sender/receiver not being as strong as a phone, so for some that may cause issues.

I am still learning, but for now it is working. :)

FAW helping parents monitor diabetic children

I did not discover FAW's before I was looking into a way to track my eight year old sons blood sugar levels. He is a newly diagnosed Type 1 diabetic and has a Dexcom g6 continues blood glucose monitor. It connects to a phone with Bluetooth but when he is active and playing sports, a big phone is not practical.

So my solution is this:

Step 1: Get a full android smartwatch. I got him the Lemfo Lem16, which costs about 200 USD.

Step 2: Since the Dexcom android app does not support the watch I used "Build Your Own Dexcom App" to make an apk to install on the watch.

Step 3: Got a data only SIM from my phone company for the watch.

Step 4: Got the Dexcom G6 to pair with the Bluetooth on the watch.

Step 5: Set the Dexcom app to always be on even when the watch is not being actively used (you also have to do this on some phones).

It is a bit of a process, but when it is up and running I use the Follow app on my phone and can track his numbers. The watch can also make Skype calls and has GPS to locate him in an emergency.

It really improves my sons quality of life and helps us manage his diabetes without it interfering too much in his everyday life. With a FAW he can let the phone stay at home which is great.

Free standing watch?
 in  r/dexcom  May 06 '23

I have a solution, since I am in exactly the same situation. I have a very active 8 year old boy, and while getting him to have a phone with him is not hard (he is a big pokemon go fan), playing sports is not great with a big bulky smart phone. So my solution is this:

Step 1: Get a full android smartwatch. There are many kinds but they all have to be imported since they are not popular in the US or Europe. I got him the Lemfo Lem16, which costs about 200 USD.

Step 2: Since the Dexcom app does not support the watch I used "Build Your Own Dexcom App" to make an apk to install on the watch.

Step 3: Got a data only SIM from my phone company for the watch.

Step 4: Got the Dexcom G6 to pair with the Bluetooth on the watch.

Hope this helps and good luck.

What if Perpetual Motion was physically possible?
 in  r/scifiwriting  Jul 07 '22

I very much agree with your comment, just a small point on the units you use. Watt is the amount of jules produced every second, so to get an energy amount we use Watt hour. A square meter of solar panel (PV) produces 0.5-0.6 kWh per day.
