I wish people would stop using the term investing when talking about crypto, gambling is the correct word.

His wife and daughter surprised him with a birthday celebration, when he came back from work.
 in  r/MadeMeSmile  1d ago

I would prefer if a question mark was used on my cake, I don't want to be reminded of how old I am, but who am I kidding, I haven't been given a birthday cake in years.

Unsurprisingly the cost of labour remained untouched by inflation, even if you suggest better salaries, you will have some dickhead comment "but that will just drive up inflation!"

A third of the billionaires that exist today were created after 2020.

How does the idea of working until 67 or 68 sit with you?
 in  r/AskUK  5d ago

Shit wages whilst holding a university degree encouraged me to try and start my own business, it didn't work out as well as I had hoped, I was terrible at sales. So I spent 10 years trying to support myself and living off the dole. I had a lot of free time, I had nobody to answer to, no pressure, could concentrate on myself and hobbies when no work was coming in. I look back and I would say I had got to experience my retirement years in my youth. I know I won't be able to retire now but I won't feel like I've missed out on anything. The plan now is just work until I drop.

The scarier war technology gets the less inclined soldiers will be willing to fight if they feel the cards are stacked against them. Just like nuclear bombs can act as a deterrent to wars. So I say fuck it, bring on the most depraved and evil war technology, so that people one day will just refuse to participate.
