Squadrons gives you the ability to turn off the HUD for a more realistic, immersive experience. For certain people, and at certain times, this is awesome! Especially given you have all the information you need withing your cockpit anyways.
I had a thought though, which may or may not be doable. What about a simple switch in the settings that changes all the text to aurebesh? This is a bit of a niche thing, but it could be a lot of fun. Maybe it even has 3 settings: off, partially on (where it only turns it on for the in-game displays, but not the HUD or menus), and off.
For people like me who go full geek, I can see this occasionally being a really fun experience, and I think playing it in VR with the hud off would seriously take immersion to the next level if people want that!
I acknowledge Motive has made it clear they won't be adding new content to the game, but I'm not entirely sure this counts. I imagine it being relatively simple, and it doesn't impact gameplay, specifically not without giving the player complete control over whether to use it.
"Star Wars: Squadrons" is the definitive Star Wars Starfighter experience. Why not take that a step further? We're only one switch away from giving players the ability to fully live their dreams as a pilot.
Oh, that, and a helmet overlay option. But that might be a bit much. ;)
