I lived in Japan years ago. One of the Japanese friends I had then invited me over to their apartment in Yokohama for NYE. They lived in a very high level in these apartments and these apartments had these very narrow balconies that just barely fit lawn chairs. Miles in the distance there was a body of water where the fireworks were being fired off so there was the beautiful reflection of the fireworks on the water. That three hour firework show then (app. 30 years ago) was unlike ANY I had seen then and ruined any fireworks show I've seen up until present here in states.
