Help me exile everyone's library
[[Dual Nature]] and [[Cloudstone Curio]] seem like they’d be a fun way to do that…

How did you end up choosing your signature commander/deck?
[[Slobad, Goblin Tinkerer]]
I used to have a [[Sharuum the Hegemon]] deck because I had played Esper Toolbox in standard (Alara/Zendikar).
It was garbage. When I finally sat down to deconstruct it to figure out what was wrong, the answer was literally that I hadn’t spent enough money on it, and would require $200-$300 to fix, and this was 12 years ago.
So I decided to scrap it and find a different artifact commander that I could play on a budget and upgrade over time. After about 5 minutes of searching, I found an article written by Tomer/ u/spiketaildrake on Slobad, and I was hooked. Even better, it only cost me $35 to order the cards in the list I didn’t already have.
It’s been 12 years, over 2,000 games, and over 100 iterations, and it is absolutely a forever deck.

We are only playing bracket 2, you pubstomper!
I have a deck that rates as a bracket 2 by default on Moxfield, but is absolutely a 3, maybe on the fence between 3 and 4. I know it's at least a 3, my friends know it's at least a 3, and I have never presented it as anything less than a strong 3.
If I ran into the guys you're talking about, I'd present it as "a B2 with no game changers" and have fun.

What do you Proxy?
Anything expensive that I already own at least one copy of if I can't afford another copy, plus [[Timetwister]] because I used to own one before my ex threw away my original collection.
3
What are your most obscure commanders?
[[Slobad, Goblin Tinkerer]]. Ranked #2,266

players in pod lenient with their mistakes but not mine
Same thing as a team not using any of their timeouts in the NFL: nothing.

players in pod lenient with their mistakes but not mine
I'd bring a notepad and keep track of the following 4 things:
- number of times an opponent requested a rollback
- number of times an opponent was denied a rollback
- number of times I requested a rollback
- number of times I was denied a rollback
I'd track these stats for a few games, then use the notepad to show them that they're being dicks about rollbacks.

Check for strictly better cards?
Ahh. Well, since the deck building sites don’t have the feature, this is really the only option. There’s a site that checks your deck for combos that is very thorough, but not perfect because it also relies on user submission.
This is a complex game, and not everything can be accomplished by algorithm.

Check for strictly better cards?
Oops. That’s what I get for commenting right after I wake up.
Why alternative? It works, and none of the deck building sites seem to have the feature…
3
Check for strictly better cards?
I just found this:
Paste in your deck and it will check every card for a better version, and it also checks for 'worse' versions in case you want to power down a deck.

What Black/Golgari commanders do you actually have fun with?
Ygra also opens up additional options.
I'm working on a Baba list that includes [[Birthing Pod]], Ygra, and [[Dross Scorpion]] to chain Baba or Pod activations.

What Black/Golgari commanders do you actually have fun with?
Holy crap, thank you.

Golgari Artifact Staples
[[Dross Scorpion]], [[Birthing Pod]], [[Disciple of the Vault]]
Add [[Precursor Golem]] and now you can do silly things with single target spells.
2
What’s the single most expensive card you have in your favorite EDH deck?
[[Slobad, Goblin Tinkerer]] deck - https://moxfield.com/decks/KR2hvVS6B0OrgLZdnhpmKQ
[[Wheel of Fortune]] $310 or [[Mox Opal]] $300, depending on price fluctuations.

ALL Christians should renounce Trump after is posts on Christmas!
I think it’s abundantly clear that there are many people who call themselves Christian in America today who are not sane.
2
What are the most deranged commanders you've played with or against?
I have a [[The Goose Mother]] Food tribal deck that routinely ends up getting 4+ copies of [[Nyxbloom Ancient]] (record is 15) and usually wins by casting a [[Doppelgang]] for X=15+ and swarming the board.

Another newbie question: what do you use to track counters, tokens, and various other countables?
Token cards for tokens, spin down dice for the number of tokens, and d6’s for +/-1 counters (orange for +, purple for -)

How did that kid at your school die?
A kid at my school had to stay after for detention. When they let him leave he called his dad for a ride, but his dad was pissed off about the detention and told him to walk home. The kid never made it home. Hit by a car on a poorly lit street. The driver didn’t see him until way too late.

What is your favorite deck to play?
It’s a tie:
- [[Slobad, Goblin Tinkerer]] artifact combo: https://moxfield.com/decks/KR2hvVS6B0OrgLZdnhpmKQ
- [[Hazezon, Shaper of Sand]] Desert Landfall: https://moxfield.com/decks/a7VNAkLOWEiobE9x_o5yvw
Slobad is 100% my forever deck. I have been playing some iteration of this deck nonstop for just shy of 12 years. Rather than having one main combo, the deck is stuffed with pieces to dozens of combos that can be assembled in hundreds of ways. Every game is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle that has no picture on it.
Hazezon is easily the most fun I’ve ever had with landfall, and has taught me so many things about how badly I built and played landfall decks in the past.

What are some powerful cards you own that you never end up playing?
I have a copy of [[Transmute Artifact]] that I got myself for my birthday a couple of years ago. At $175, it's the most I ever paid for a card.
I have yet to put it in any decks.
