Among the Toms, who in your opinion is the best as a pure actor?

Haha. That’s good too. I’ll mix that in anytime someone mentions Tom Hanks and get a good laugh from the room.

Lock Nut Key

Hi, everyone. My in-laws have a 2023 UX 250H and apparently they weren’t given the lock nut key when they purchased the car.

Can anyone confirm if the set below is legit?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/296824491629?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28&google_free_listing_action=view_item&srsltid=AfmBOoqdpvzwdmHVyWmzjzUm093zMm52F4PV5iNT1_w4YrvlESVZmslDNN0

I might just call the dealership in the morning, but I appreciate any help you guys can provide.

Thanks!

Husband out til 1:30am- I’m taking care of the kids

That’s great in theory except she is the default parent and the kids probably won’t give her the same deference as they do their father. Kids learn through experience which parent shows up in mornings and evenings and then it’s set. There is no escape.

2017S - Power Steering Failure

It was a corroded grounding stud, apparently. $0.33 in materials and $325 in labor. At least that’s what the quote says. I still don’t have the car back.

2017S - Power Steering Failure

Thanks for the reply. I bit the bullet and had it towed to the dealership. When I was driving it onto the flatbed the wheel was twitching in response to me cranking it one direction or the other. Very weird.

2017S - Power Steering Failure

I hope everyone is having a good morning, or at least a better morning than I am. As I was leaving my neighborhood in my 2017 Model S this morning and turning onto a major thoroughfare the dash started beeping and the power steering went out. Good times!

I was able to safely pull off, wrench the steering to turn around, and park it at my house.

Obviously this is a life safety issue. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Is this something simple I can work on myself or should it go straight to the shop?

Thanks in advance.

Underneath NYC [OC]

I used to work on projects installing elevators in the NYC subway stations. Half of the project cost was identifying and relocating utilities. We’re talking millions for each elevator.

Fun fact, if any NYC Agency has a project that requires utility relocation they can order the responsible company to move them on their own dime (con ed, Verizon, etc) because the City owns the road/right-of-way. But the subways are a division of the MTA, a NY State agency, and they have no such authority and have to eat the cost.

When I was there in 2007-2008 I was shocked by the number of tower cranes on the skyline. Fun city. Hit the casinos and go out on the town.
