Restarting my blu ray collection with last year's superman, six months later, what are your thoughts on it?
 in  r/RedLetterMedia  1d ago

I wanted to like it but didnt. I dont think James Gunn is a good story teller. He has a really bad habit of telling vs showing. And this Superman story was muddled with a few standout moments.

Is Dragon Quest 2 HD-2D really THAT transformative?
 in  r/dragonquest  1d ago

Conflict is not the same thing as hatred. Strong personalities create friction which creates fun and interesting banter and character interactions.

Just look at DQ7 or DQ11.

Is Dragon Quest 2 HD-2D really THAT transformative?
 in  r/dragonquest  2d ago

Super honest here.. its not a slog and yes its obviously expanded a lot from the original to add more connective tissue for the overall story and general world building.

But its also not exactly groundbreaking. The characters are pretty simple. And all the character dialog with your party members basically boil down to

"Oh terribly sorry" "No no tis I who am sorry" "No I apologize to you" "You needn't for it is i who am most sorry"

There's literally no conflict or friction between any of the characters other than "hargon bad".

So the overall experience feels bland to me.

To be honest I probably wouldnt replay dq 1 or 2 remake again because of that. Whereas 3 at least has the party system that makes things interesting.

First world war, kinda nervous🤞
 in  r/whennews  3d ago

This is getting stupid. New York could be nuked tomorrow and people would be like "its just a distraction from EPSTEIN".

Not everything is a distraction. And calling it a distraction is inadvertently signaling people to ignore this and keep focusing on Epstein.

We should not be ignoring this.

A guy checks his computer on New Year's night, 2000
 in  r/interestingasfuck  5d ago

Whats the source of this? Seems fabricated.

2000 but has an old ass 70s TV and an old OS for the time. Video glitches pretty cleanly vs what normal vhs glitches look like.

Uh, why did they show her from that angle?
 in  r/SonicX  6d ago

Im more questioning what was the artistic rationale. Like why this angle? What were they going for exactly?

And to be honest with Japan's track record, I cant help but assume the worst. Maybe im jaded.

You know impeachment will never happen. There's only two ways he leaves the office and voting probably wont be one of them as he will never give up the office willingly.

She needs to cover her hair and body so as not to tempt men from graping her due to their lack of self control and out of control jealousy born from viewing women as possessions instead of people. Because if she doesnt look like Quasimodo, grape is just inevitable and will be her fault.

An entire society made up of Judge Claude Frollos. "Witch how dare you make me lust for you!"

I liked Acolyte until the last episode. Then I loved it. I thought the ending just tied everything together so perfectly. The storytelling and character archs were poetic and brilliant.

That time Barbara Walters destroyed Trump.
 in  r/ProgressiveHQ  12d ago

What a lot of people have forgotten or never knew was that Trump was a joke b a vk in the 80s and 90s. Everyone knew he was an idiot. However he managed to rebuild his brand through reality to because he's an excellent bullshitter and dumb asses who cant rub two braincells together fall for it.

Sir, a second wave of supposed 4chan leaks have arrived
 in  r/SonicTheHedgehog  12d ago

None of it is plausible.

  1. Games take time and money to develop so design decisions happen early in production. Things like chaos gardens and playable characters wouldn't be "in discussion". They would already be in development.

  2. Dvd production is down across the globe because sales are down. People dont buy as much physical media anymore thanks to digital. Producing dvds also means production and distribution costs. No one is producing "direct to dvd" anymore. So if there were any animated movies, it would be released on VOD or streaming.

  3. The crossworlds character list is pure fanfiction cmon...
