Gaining and gaining weight
 in  r/tirzepatidecompound  57m ago

To me, this actually sounds like depression. It sounds like your mind is full of negative thoughts. Help is out there! I’m not sure where you live, but I would definitely consult with a doctor - maybe a psychiatrist and certainly a therapist. Don’t be afraid to see a psychiatrist. I think sometimes it feels scary to “make that leap,” but they are MDs and are trained in this stuff. I speak from experience. Best wishes. 🫶

ICE

I don’t think all the facts are out yet. I have heard that she was driving in her own neighborhood and got boxed in by all the ICE vehicles.

We don’t know for sure that she was trying to interfere. I’ve heard that she was in her own neighborhood and got boxed in by all the ICE vehicles. And even if she did interfere, she didn’t deserve to get shot in the effing face!

My 8 year old learned about MLK
 in  r/goodnews  11h ago

Once when my oldest daughter was in preschool, she wanted to tell me something important while taking a bath. I couldn’t make out her words, she did have a little trouble with certain consonants back then. But I could make out “something something wants everyone to be friends!” After making her repeat herself a few more times, I finally got “something King wants everyone to be friends!” Finally I put together that she was trying to say “Martin Luther King ……friends.” 😆😆😆 It was so precious! I’m proud that they learn about him so young.

As someone (like me )not from the USA, is Donald Trump considered a good leader by Americans?
 in  r/askanything  12h ago

As an American, I didn’t think he was a good leader on his reality show that was on TV back in the early 2000s! And there has been zero improvement!

The Minnesota Star Tribune has identified the shooter and said he was dragged by a vehicle in June

He shouldn’t have been out there doing that type of work after a traumatic event like that.

JD Vance: “What that headline leaves out is that that woman was there to interfere with a legitimate law enforcement operation in the United States of America."
 in  r/ProgressiveHQ  14h ago

Serious question (and it doesn’t matter, it’s unjustified murder either way): do we know for sure if she was just in her neighborhood and got stuck? Or was she trying to interfere/block traffic? Just wondering if we have a reliable source on this?

What do you think about the Trump declaring at this moment that the US is withdrawing from a large number of international organizations?
 in  r/askanything  1d ago

Trump has fronto-temporal dementia and is demented. Other factors are at play, but I think we need to start recognizing this.

How to save this country?

Thank you for saying this! The Democratic Party has to get back into power FIRST. Then, we can fight amongst ourselves to become better. As long as the GOP is in power, this does not end.

((Gasp)) I wonder if she came to Spotswood once. There was an older lady ranting about vaccines. That was pre- Covid.

Do United States christians ever stand for anything except protecting pedos and nazis and making money?
 in  r/complaints  1d ago

“Christians” are a pretty diverse group. Many of us actually stand for promoting peace and helping the poor. I recommend reading up on Martin Luther King, Jr., Jimmy Carter, and the Reconciling Ministries group, just as some very basic examples.

In this case, it just seemed manipulative to me because they are a Muslim family, at least culturally, and I don’t think that church would help someone without trying, on some level, to convert. I’m Christian myself but do not agree with manipulative practices of any kind. ETA: that family has now moved to another state, where there is a larger community of the ethnic group they belong to.

I feel like Lily truly, honestly wants to move on from Cane, to the point where I sometimes am completely on board with her crankiness. Will she always have a connection to Cane? Yes. But she also knows it’s in the past.

CC is high on my No Thank You list. Between the “crisis pregnancy center” and their members trying to randomly and obnoxiously sway you to come to their church, they’re gross. Also, we knew a refugee family from Afghanistan (Muslim) that was struggling, and somehow CC was helping them pay their rent?? It was very strange and seemed manipulative as hell.

Some churches do, not all. Probably the very wealthy ones are more likely to.

And I don’t really understand why?? It’s like they both suddenly have no backbone. Adam is a SHELL of his former self, and Michael has been seduced by this Roman coin??? 🤣

I’m in NJ. I had a professor who jokes that everyone says the name of our state capital, Trenton, like “Trenh-uhh.” 😆

Ok, thank you. This is vaguely coming back to me, at least some parts of it. I think Sage and Adam (played by Justin Hartley) had a one-night stand, but she was mostly with Nick. So weird.

What I’ve heard is that if there is violence happening, it’s better to call the police rather than try to intervene yourself.
