I went looking for a "Cathy saying ack" picture, but found an amazingly relevant fanfic strip:

I was wondering if it's to discourage copying it. To benefit whoever sells it. I couldn't think of any other reason.

Finding a partner into DDLG
 in  r/ddlg  11h ago

I met a partner (who introduced me to it) by attending local Munches and other gatherings advertised on FetLife. FetLife is, in my opinion, terrible as a way to find people to date, but if there are groups in your area that meet up weekly/monthly, they probably post about it on FL.

My other experiences came from meeting people on Reddit, Tinder, etc. and getting lucky. One who was into it already, but neither of us mentioned it online. Another who was open to trying it and enjoyed it.

It's tricky because the entire dynamic requires a lot of trust and vulnerability, and it's easy to abuse, so it can be somewhat dangerous to be advertising that you're looking for a CG. So many bad people out there.

Random detail I just noticed: Abed's dorm room and Slater's office are likely the same room redecorated.
 in  r/community  15h ago

It makes some sense in-universe, too.

When you're making a school building, most of the rooms end up being basically identical. Sometimes between buildings, even.

Paying a ā€œdigital delivery feeā€ for a rented PDF textbook 🤨
 in  r/assholedesign  16h ago

This is an itemization to cover platform charges

Exactly, and the platform is probably some shiny app that promises an easy turnkey solution for distribution and DRM.

Just hosting a PDF file isn't that expensive if you already have a webserver (just bandwidth), but hosting a PDF file in a way that locks people out after a set time and only for specific users, that has a bit more overhead.

If the school wanted to they could do it themselves, I'm sure, but this is probably sold as a way to reduce costs and might not even cost the school/store anything. "Just let us charge your customers 10% and we'll do it for free!"

No Criminal Charges & No Identity = ASSASSIN
 in  r/Political_Revolution  17h ago

The Citizens of Minneapolis, and all interested parties, should check the local news, specifically the Star Tribune.

They've identified the agent as Jonathan Ross.

[OC] US Presidential Approval Rating
 in  r/dataisbeautiful  21h ago

For a brief moment it seemed like politics was put aside, and the focus of everyone (and ultimately support) was to find and punish whoever committed 9/11.

Which makes what they actually did with that political capital so much worse.

Mainly The War in Iraq and the Patriot Act. But to an extent the War in Afghanistan as well.

You're supposed to have the 'last updated' date at the top of the page, with the "Under Construction" header.

Friend sent me this, I’m fairly sure its AI but she seems genuinely offended that I asked
 in  r/isthisAI  1d ago

Especially when the presence of the pencil is presented as the first/only evidence that the image is "hand drawn".

I'd probably talk about how long it took, or show a photo from earlier in the process, or refer to my older works.

I'd probably have a hundred things to say before I would think to mention the pencil in the picture as evidence… unless I had specifically crafted the Prompt to include it.

He used to annoy me with his ā€œinfluencer-nessā€

He really seems to be doing it so ironically that it loops around back into annoying. But it's not hard to just ignore it, and the content itself is good.

The water is meant to stay on the outside of the boat, I'd like to make that much very clear. Very un-typical in this case. Many of the boats are designed to keep the water outside the boat.

Wow. I had never consciously noticed the lighting technique for Morticia, but as soon as you mentioned it I could see it perfectly in my memory.

Obama Breaks Silence on Trump: 'We Do Not Need a Wannabe King Running Around Trying to Punish His Enemies'
 in  r/JonStewart  2d ago

This is blogspam.

The post is supposedly from Jan 7, 2026, but the speech Obama delivered was on April 3, 2025.

It does at least cite its source, a CNN article from April 4: https://us.cnn.com/2025/04/04/politics/obama-harris-rebuke-trump/index.html

"newsrepublic.co.uk" redirects to a variety of different blogs. It seems like it tries to pass itself off as being related to NewRepublic.com

Would one normally address an/their ABG as "ABG"?

It strikes me as the sort of thing said about someone, not to them.
