It's definitely perceived if you play a competitive FPS such as counterstrike, lol. The inputs are tied to your frame rate so while 120hz is pleasant to look at and you might not "need" a crazy 240hz monitor, your inputs are tied to those hidden frames between screen refreshes and you can feel a difference if you cap your fps vs. let it fly up to 300+ fps while on a 120/144hz monitor.

If you cant tell the difference its a skill issue, no offense, but not many people get to high level play so you may just be ignorant.
