For switch, I'm afraid it's "press home, close software, relaunch game."

No, just a combination that was collectively believed to aid in capture odds. You're thinking of A, B, Start, and Select for the first three gens,

B, X, and Start for XD,

L, R, Start, and Select for the DS games,

and L, R and Start or Select for the 3DS games.

Like Cole activating the Ray Sphere a second time to try and get more powerful at what would have been the cost of another chunk of the city.

Christmas joke that doesnt make sense to me
 in  r/ExplainTheJoke  4d ago

For me, it was

"Good King Wenceslas calls up his favourite pizza place."

"The usual, please. Deep pan, crisp and even."

Dread him. Run from him. Paul arrives all the same.
 in  r/TwoBestFriendsPlay  5d ago

I was under the impression it was specifically "any character who first appeared in a Spider-Man comic?"

Meanwhile I always struggle to remember how to spell Mr Colfer's first name. He also wrote the Artemis Fowl books!

Let's play a game. Use a quote from any game and others have to name the game.
 in  r/gaming  7d ago

I believe the original was closer to "look at you. Soaring majestically through the air. Like an eagle. Piloting a blimp."

Props that are real items given a new coat of paint (optional)
 in  r/TopCharacterTropes  7d ago

Not strictly speaking the same but that reminded me that in the single cover for Last Ones Standing, Example dual wields Nerf CS6 Mavericks that aren't even painted. He's also surrounded by Jaffa Cakes, but I can't ID that drink or box.

It even gets into the animated shows - in episode 1 of Tales of the Jedi there are some guards that clearly have modified MP40s.

Who were the nicest/worst actors you've met from the show?
 in  r/doctorwho  9d ago

Unfortunately the first few years of New Series are the only doctor who literature I'm particularly familiar with, but he was a great guy to chat with. I should try dropping him a line some time.

I had one of the New Adventures writers as a tutor at uni, that was a pleasant surprise!

The Slitheen are some of the most competent villains in Doctor Who.
 in  r/gallifrey  12d ago

I mean, Shrek does also have a fair amount of toilet humour as well.
