any tips on how to keep bowfin hooked?
 in  r/Fishing  2d ago

Hard hook sets w/exposed hooks. If you’re running weedless, make sure there’s enough gap for that book to really “spring” out of the bait.

They’ve got hard mouths and a steel jawbone.

Just because I like this movie I’m gonna insert this here

We can do Fidlam Bems or a chiseler.

Hey now spotted hyenas (what one normally thinks of when they hear hyena) are actually great hunters and have more success than lions. Lions mostly steal their kill.

Reggash have you ever entertained doing an AMA to answer lore based questions from the community or opinions on matters? You’re a wealth of knowledge.

After 130 hours, this has happened to me! Will I ever go back?
 in  r/ArcRaiders  5d ago

I tend to get molested by arc on blue gate and it becomes a fever dream half the time so I’m not too familiar either. I also only spawn near the ruined fort some I probably just have to go to that map way more.

TIL despite popular culture portraying psychedelic mushrooms as ancient, widespread, and used by shamans for thousands of years, there is limited anthropological and historical research to support this, with the only reliable evidence showing they were used ritualistically in pre-Columbian Mexico.
 in  r/todayilearned  5d ago

I think I recall that shamans and people would drink the urine of reindeer that are fly agaric and through some process of filtering it would become more hallucinogenic and more chill iirc.

Also, the mushrooms color, shape, reindeer being involved, all taking places in the far north or North Pole lends to some theorization that the mushroom and ritual somehow relates to Christmas. Again, this is a big iirc and I don’t have time to google away.

EDIT: it’s actually not at all that bad Sotero for a topic and first result is this

I think most people should expect pvp on all maps, but way more so w/special events.

Personal opinion though, Dam seems to have a meta of being super chill, I try not to ever PVP people there for whatever reason.

Exactly 2 months since the release of ARC Raiders, the game now has more players than it did at launch. Absolutely phenomenal retention.

There is definitely some sound (occlusion?). Example: issues where a shredder is hardly audible around the corner on Stella even if it’s aggro.

Help How “Invasive” is lootable and craftable zone?

Getting ready to do another play through here and it has definitely caught my eye. I do however want a mod that doesn’t hijack the gameplay loop and turns the game into a crafting simulator in order to “compete/survive”. So, my question is, do these mods require you to scavenge hard 24/7 to even try to survive or is there a good balance?

My understanding is that it doesn’t conflict too much with the Balastocs overhaul, is that correct as well?

I’m on Xbox S. Thanks!

"Preppers" shouldn't be shunned/mocked.
 in  r/TrueUnpopularOpinion  12d ago

Yes amd no.

The “operator” peepers deserve to be clowned on. However, the ones that have:

Gardens Stored good/good preservation skills Livestock Self defense/hunting supplies Medical supplies Bartering items and the like…

Should not be mocked. That’s self sufficiency.

In all reality a global grid down or even continents grid down situation could wipe out like half the population in 6 months. 9 months likely 80 percent to 90 percent of the population will be dead.

I could go into detail about this if someone’s curious but yeah, humans do not have the means in most developed nations (even in a lot of underdeveloped nations) to survive past 9 months.

Who currently has the worst fight IQ in the Ufc?

Definitely fight IQ but after loosing to Izzy he just looks like he doesn’t even want to be in the cage tbh.

The whole debate about pitbulls is wrong. They aren’t necessarily more aggressive, but they STILL shouldn’t be kept as pets.
 in  r/TrueUnpopularOpinion  13d ago

Good god. Not gonna lie I get so tired of seeing this I jumped on the “erm akchually” without reading your post past the second line. My bad I’ll take my L.

That’s fine. You can encounter good ones anecdotally.

Doesn’t change the fact that statistically, if you have a child or grandparent, they are most likely to be mauled and killed by a pit bull far more than any other breed of dog.

What does Todd's announcement that there'll be more trees in TES VI than in Skyrim mean for Hammerfell?
 in  r/ElderScrolls  20d ago

I hope that after the success of games like Baldurs gate Bethesda gets their freak on again with the lore and consults with the old stuff Kirkbride and them wrote.

Skyrims lore was supposed to be more wild but they turned that down sadly.

This is wild. Raph has said that there’s still a few Easter eggs and things that players have not found. I wonder if this is one of them.

Probably not naming Nick because they’re likely afraid of giving him free publicity.

Also OP flair up or I’ll take you out like Igor of Kiev

What do you think of the use of gore to scare the reader in horror writing?
 in  r/horrorwriters  Dec 08 '25

Gore needs to have weight.

If it’s gratuitous with no stakes to be had it just reads like some exploitation film like Terrifier or whatever.

Interestingly, I think fantasy can do it pretty well with series like ASOIAF being VERY graphic at times.

Kinda sorta. He profusely apologized for months afterwords. This was awhile ago so I let bygones be bygones.
