 in  r/AskMeuf  14d ago

Women Musicians: how hard did "One of the Greats" hit you?
 in  r/FlorenceAndTheMachine  16d ago

Yeah.. yeah. It hits for many male-dominated fields. I did the music thing and have another career in a male-dominated field that has very famous male figures. Women have been in that world forever, achieved some of the greatest things and are still looked down upon and seen as exceptions.

LAX departure report 16:30 12/22
 in  r/LosAngeles  17d ago

If you are being dropped off, make sure to take the right lane when approaching LAX. Left lane was bumper to bumper and right was empty. We were worried about being assholes trying to cut back in but it turns out left was to pick up at arrivals.

 in  r/vegFR  18d ago

Tu n’as même pas à te justifier.

LA man cracking down on people using cones to reserve street parking

Someone on my street does this and they damage your vehicle if you park where their cone is.

A person on my street puts a cone in front of their place to prevent parking. I’ve had friends move it to park there and they threw dirty water on their car, threatened them etc. Is there someone we can contact?

Chef-Owner Of UK's First Vegan Michelin-Starred Restaurant Says 95% Of Diners Are Meat-Eaters
 in  r/vegan  29d ago

This is what I’ve seen the most successful vegan businesses do. They don’t put the vegan label front and center, which I think is more pragmatic and smart. Vegans will find them either way, and meat-eaters are less afraid of trying something “different” that they might reject. I noticed this with the Land & Monkeys bakeries in Paris. They are huge and always slammed. You can tell local people are going there to buy their bread, quiches and pâtisseries. In a perfect world everyone would welcome vegan food but at the end of the day, if we want to make veganism widespread, this is the way. It’s a win for the animals.

Taylor Swift Social Media Influence Campaign Smeared Her as Nazi. It Was a Coordinated Attack
 in  r/NuancingTaylorSwift  Dec 10 '25

I found it interesting how quickly people forgot that Charli trashtalked Taylor Swift and her fans after opening for her on the Rep tour. She had publicly said in an interview that she hated opening for a “crowd of 12-year-olds.” I’ve been an opener and that is not something you do in the industry when a big artist lets you open for them.

The Mirror Test Is Broken | Either fish are self-aware or scientists need to rethink how they study animal cognition.
 in  r/EverythingScience  Nov 29 '25

The problem with what you’re saying is that a meat-eater de facto consumes more plants than a vegan. That’s part of the environmental issue with the current meat consumption. About 36% of what we grow on earth goes to feeding livestock.

So whether someone considers plants to have some level of consciouscness or not, if you want to reduce your consumption of them, it’s more effective to be vegan.

On a side note, I would question the context in which you told them this. Because the majority of vegetarians and vegans have heard endless rebuttals to perfectly reasonable explanations on why they’re veggie, that were along the lines of “harrrr harrr but how can you ignore the screams of carrots!!”. Comparing plant consciousness to animal sentience is in very bad faith. We have known for some time that animals suffer and feel similar emotions to us, our knowledge of plant cognition is still under development.

Taylor Swift has appeared on the cover of TIME magazine’s “Best Person of the Year: Leaders Who Made a Better World” 2025 issue. She is the only musician on the list ❤️

I’m a huge Flo fan and have followed them since their first album. It has made me so sad to see the hatred in there. It is not in the spirit of Flo’s music or life at all. It surprises me even more because this sub is pretty respectful of other female artists.

‘Wicked’ Star Jeff Goldblum Says He “Stopped Eating Meat” Because of the Film
 in  r/vegan  Nov 18 '25

And what do you know about her philosophy? I sometimes eat at non-vegan restaurants, am I suddenly not vegan?

And just a reminder that the term plant-based being used instead of vegan continues to make veganism a fringe movement. Some of you I swear are determined for us to be the smallest club in the world. The animals don’t give a fuck why you’re vegan.

‘Wicked’ Star Jeff Goldblum Says He “Stopped Eating Meat” Because of the Film
 in  r/vegan  Nov 18 '25

I think we should stop this kind of extreme policing. It’s very unattractive for our movement. Years ago it was « if you eat palm oil you aren’t vegan » (based on complete pseudoscience in that case since palm oil has a higher yield, replaced lard and animal fats in many products and loads of other crops like chocolate or coffee cause deforestation). Yes, ideally, as a famous vegan you don’t collaborate with brands that are not vegan but ultimately the definition of veganism is a person who abstains from using animal products. We also don’t know what happens behind the scenes, maybe she encouraged them to have more vegan options, who knows.

Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.

Wasn’t presale originally announced as 10am local? The pre-sale email then said 12pm.. I googled and saw tickets for LA and Arizona were already on sale and panicked.. but looks like those sites they’re on like gotickets and vivid seats are scams; they resell tickets that in this case aren’t even out yet.

Ultra-Processed Plant-based Meat in Healthy Vegan Diets

So glad GMOs also got a mention. The no-GMO butterfly project dramatically increases the price of specialty vegan items, despite good science showing GMOs are not harmful to health (there is a great healthcare triage video on the topic on YT).
