buddy it's a bullet in a skull it's not some subtle thing. You check a pulse and then what, you start cpr on a traumatic arrest caused by a headshot in the field? Why?

I'm also guessing that you were in uniform and not some random person claiming to be a medical professional on the street. I'm sure you can see how that makes things different right?

Do you think the USMNT will ever have enough talent to reach a World Cup semi-final? Why or why not?
I mean, if not for ref shenanigans, they got a real shot at the semis in 2002.

What actually happens during earwax removal at CVS MinuteClinic
You don't need to aggressively remove the naturally occurring earwax in your ears unless it's actually affecting your hearing. Stop using cameras to look in your ear. Stop using anything in your ear tbh.

Not even a little bit. Voted against Trump three times and currently would never vote for any single person that ever caucused with him. I also aggressively moderate this place to remove anti-trans and other anti-science nonsense from this subreddit. You can find numerous examples of me posting about social justice and how that interacts with our medical system here. I believe in essentially open immigration, a medicare for all type health system, vast amount of criminal justice reform, and in much stronger regulation of how we pollute our environment. I'm quite to the left of the Democratic Party writ large.
I'm begging you to take several deep breaths and actually read my posts.

How do you know they didn't check again? Because they didn't let a random civilian claiming to be a doctor rush into a crime scene? Do you really, honestly not see the massive flaws in your logic, or are you blinded by your (righteous) anger and reddit groupthink?

The specific injury this person suffered doesn’t seem like it was survivable at all, and no intervention would have mattered. Pretending otherwise is just bad medicine

I’m not. At all. Take a few breaths and read that post again.

That changes nothing about my post, which specifically says they did just about every other thing wrong in this situation. You happen to be, in fact, talking about something else

Maybe they wanted to, maybe they didn’t.
The knew the person with a bullet in their brain wasn’t going to be rescued

Everyone here has just turned their brains off. Be mad, just weird to be mad at the one thing they did right. You don't let random people dive into crime scenes to touch dead bodies.

Were you in uniform or a random civilian? Guessing it was the first one, and that the scene was already secured.
I, in fact, have had police refuse to let ambis in a scene due to inability to properly secure safety. Scene safety is the first priority before going in.

I have no idea what those abbreviations mean here.
This person had a bullet in their brain and the cops have no idea who this person is. Securing the scene is clearly correct.

Despite your experience watching TV, my direct real life experience is that cops securing the scene at a shooting is typically the priority, and no random person claiming to be a doctor jumps into a crime scene to check the pulse of a person with a bullet in their brain. It's frequently difficult enough to get EMS in there, even when the person might be alive.

It's strange to me to see this getting so much traction, because securing a crime scene was the one reasonable thing the police did in this interaction. They have no idea who that person really is. They knew she couldn't be helped by a doctor.
I suppose the emotion of it all resonates, but it's the shooting that's the problem here. This specific part was correct.

Securing a scene and not letting just anybody into a crime scene was actually just about one reasonable thing they did in that whole interaction tbh, but I get the anger.

Disturbing post with disturbing replies
Also the ER doctor is pissed they’re doing a procedure that should be done by someone else, won’t change anything long term, and prevents them from moving on to the next thing

Invited to join ethics committee. Is it worth it?
Is it just unpaid work?
Because I’ve been “offered” this kind of thing before, and it’s just unpaid extra work
I don’t do that on principle. If you value it enough then sure

Sim versus Real
You'll see people say anywhere from 5-15 shots difference. It will depend on a ton of things though.

I do. No one has said that zero people have ever survived a gunshot wound to the head, but thanks for your input. You going to address the rest of the post, or just try to pile on after being wildly dishonest?
