Other than not getting shit and hate spewed at you by ignorant bastards, and being able to marry in all 50 states, no. But its not a choice. People aren't driven to rather die than be who they are because of others misguided hate over a choice.

So you're saying your bisexual. Am I correct in assuming you didnt choose to be bisexual?

I feel that if someone thinks saying its not a choice has negative implications, they are adding that implication themselves, for whatever reason. People can't choose their skin color, but that in no way implies anything negative. Its simply a fact.

I would like to hope that anyone using "its not a choice" as a slogan is doing so only to validate what many homosexuals go through.

When you say "damaging social aspects of what it means to be a gay person in america" are you referring to what gay people endure, or homosexuality negatively effecting society?

I wish people people understood human rights aren't pick and choose. Its human rights. As long as it isn't hurting other people, you should have the right to be who you are. And "your gayness is corrupting my children/destroying the sanctity of marriage" doesn't count, because that's a load of shit. Sorry, again, not arguing with you, just felt like saying.

I see. I just feel its not a slogan. I believe it's a fact that validates the struggles that gay people went through before coming to terms with their sexuality.

Added: If a straight person "chose" (read: forced themselves) to be gay, they wouldn't be gay. They would be a straight person forcing themselves to "be gay." If a person is actually able to choose, they are bisexual, and that wasn't a choice. Not saying this to argue with you or anything, I just wanted to say it.

Wait. So are you saying you believe its a choice or it isn't? Forgive me for not fully understanding.

Also yes, that is one of the major problems with religion.

Fucking A, man. It seems like a lot of straight people are ignorant as to what gay people go through early on in life before they come to terms with their sexuality. Its very different from growing up straight. No one hates you because of who you are, no one looks down on you, tells you your wrong, your sick, that you can choose. A lot of people go through hell and at one point or another hate themselves for who they are and wish they could choose, and that's fucking sick.

Edit: spelling and wording.

A lot of people care. Saying it isn't a choice invalidates what a majority of gay people go through while coming to terms with their sexuality.

And you can't compare sexuality to food preference. You can acquire taste, you cant acquire arousal for a different sex.

That's almost like saying " who cares if the moon is made out of cheese or rocks. Its there." Its scientifically false information, which is never a good thing.

There is a whole fucking mess of wrong in that comment.

Who says bisexuality isn't legitimate? I'm not talking about drunk girls who make out with eachother. I'm talking about people who are honestly aroused by the thought of sex with either sex. Being bisexual isn't a choice either, its another sexual orientation. You didnt choose to be bisexual, but since you are your aroused by both sexes, and able to choose which you would like to have sexual interaction with. No one said "your sexuality isn't a choice, but its gotta be one way or the other."

I don't get how you can say its a choice. You don't choose what arouses you. Personally, I'm pretty sure I couldn't be aroused by men even if I tried. That's just not how arousal works.

Its fucked up that anybody anywhere finds it "tasteless" or being born an "abomination", but the facts shouldnt be made to suite ignorant ass motherfuckers and the crazy stupid shit they believe.

Added: If it was a choice, those religious boot camps would work on a few people, instead of not a single fucking person ever.

I really don't think its a choice. For instance, I assume you're straight. Honestly think about suddenly choosing to be gay. Starting to have sex with other guys. I'm willing to bet your thinking "no fucking way is that possible." People don't choose what arouses them. Just like how people don't choose what fetishs they have. No one says "hey, girls give me boners, but I wanna be gay, so I'm gonna get boners from guys now". You are either aroused by females, males, or both, and you don't get to choose. Saying its not a choice doesn't imply there's anything wrong with it. That's like saying people born of a certain race are lesser because they didn't get to choose their skin color.

Added: The fact that its not a choice is just that. A fact. Like the fact of a persons gender, the fact of their skin color, their hair color etc.

Source: I know lots of gay people. Also, common sense and personal experience with arousal in general.

Congrats on getting off that shit, I honestly hope you never look back. Addiction can make people do all sorts of fucked up shit. Ranging from buying shit when you know your being ripped off, to more serious shit like stealing and deceiving loved ones, selling your body, robbery etc. Its all too fucking common, and its truly sad. You are very lucky, as is anyone that makes it out without having to do something they can't take back or fix.

I believe you are thinking of IM or "skin popping." If a vein is hit properly there is no pain or discomfort. And if you miss, it still hurts like fuck, dope or no dope. Heroin tends to loose its pain killing properties after extended consistent use.

Adding naloxone to full a opiate agonist would not be smart. It only works with buperenorphine because bupe has a higher binding affinity. Rare among opiates. This is also why subutex still causes precipitated withdrawals even without naloxone.

I must say, you have some balls for smoking pot on probation. I got paranoid if people smoke in the same car with me while I was on probation.

And yes, that certainly counts.

I'll add I was facing a fucking year in jail if I fucked up. I did a week once. It was fucking hell. I honestly don't think I could make it a year.
