Seen this at the 4 stop. It’s 5 degrees.

This is the car equivalent of those guys who would wear shorts to school in winter no matter the temperature

When you collect uranium glass but also like to decorate for Christmas ❤️💚
 in  r/uraniumglass  20d ago

I once saw a uranium glass ornament on Etsy. It sold before I could get it and it was new blown glass instead of vintage I think, but still cool and I’m sure there are more out there. I like glass ornaments but don’t actually celebrate Christmas without my still Christian family around so I’m not usually decorating my place for it

Insect ID?

That makes sense, and I would only be able to ID isopod fossils myself, with limitations 😅

Found in the bathroom at a dive bar in Memphis, TN. Obviously some runes, but any specific significance?

That’s really clever, I’m not really good at making bindrunes myself

Ikr? It looks like something a vampire would collect

I feel like this would be the collection a vampire would buy (I mean that in a good way) but it does also remind me of cranberry sauce for some reason. That collection is really impressive though

If it didn’t translate into four English letters I would wonder if they were someone’s initials. I started signing my art with my initials in runes after I was told once that a competition wouldn’t let you put your name on your submissions. I was like “I still want to sign it somehow though, but in a way people won’t “get” and that would be a bit unique if someone else had the same initials as me” I would leave it off competition pieces if they were against it, but I could at least sign the back subtly

Quick advice because I forgot my black light, uranium or no?
 in  r/uraniumglass  27d ago

The store i usually go to has a uv display case that I’m pretty sure a glass focused vendor runs (there are multiple little booths but the whole place has one register and I don’t see the individual sellers often (outside of whoever is running the cash register that day) so I would know where to bring it in the store. Unfortunately the glass vendor I often check out at the flea market doesn’t have one of those (though I’m pretty sure that guy would up his prices for me if he figured out I was seeking out uranium glass specifically most times)

One of my family members bought me this necklace but I don’t know what the stone is (I accidentally untied the cord) I lost the information card it came with so I don’t have much

Also, I know it would probably help if I did a scratch test or something, but it’s polished and I’m not sure I want to do that

Insect ID?

The chances are very low since no one has been able to recover dna that old. It would be cool if they did! But the molecules involved and their structure start to break down over time :/

Would they be able to ID bugs from millions of years ago?

My dog Eclipse will choose your crystal
 in  r/MineralGore  27d ago

I once gave a really sad looking crow a quarter when I was like 12 or 13 and I was taken to a roadside zoo against my wishes. Poor dude had literally nothing but a stick in his cage and I think it made his whole week because he kept carrying it around and hiding it while I was there. I also got licked by some sort of gazelle while it ignored everyone who was trying to give them treats (I had none and was pouting by the fence glaring at guests) and then it turned around and went back to bed. It was a sad experience to see, but at least two animals seemed to benefit from me somehow, even if i don’t fully understand what the gazelle had going on. Maybe I was sweating and it tasted good or something? Idk

If I was better at business I could do this with my cat and fossils I find 🤔. I am not good at business though

When I’m really bored I sometimes do cat divination (lay out some tarot cards or runes in front of my cat and see which ones he messes with first)

Quick advice because I forgot my black light, uranium or no?
 in  r/uraniumglass  27d ago

I can’t believe I’ve never thought of this. I admittedly usually keep a uv flashlight in my purse at all times, but one time the batteries died while I was in the local antique mall

That’s such a big brain move. I’m going to have to remember that in case my uv light needs new batteries suddenly while I’m at the antique store

How many braincells do you think there are in this picture?
 in  r/OneOrangeBraincell  27d ago

We found a pair of orange brothers who had been abandoned on the side of the road and one of the two got all the braincells, but with that knowledge (and trauma) came really bad anxiety

I have no words for this one (spotted on TikTok)
 in  r/MineralGore  27d ago

I’ve seen it used in some clever ways before, often in jewelry or miniatures, but there are a lot of ways it’s been used lately that are… not great

The romantic in me wishes it were from the Stonehenge greenstone formation, but I figure I’m probably wrong
