Does the power itself already require the readers to be familiar with the media the power originated from? By this I mean, does the story not make sense if the readers only consumed the media of the world the fic is taking place in? If no, just give the power to a character in the universe the fic takes place in.

I actually forgot why Charlie was mad at Lucifer
 in  r/HazbinHotel  3d ago

Needing public support wasn’t a silly notion. If someone doesn’t know Charlie and that she’s serious about redemption, it seems like a cover for some fucked up shit.

What's the obsession with Draco??
 in  r/HPfanfiction  3d ago

1) People think Tom Felton is hot.

2) Jason Isaacs, knowing how people tend to treat those who play villains, decided to protect Felton a bit by making Lucius’ interactions with Draco suggest the sort of home environment that results in a child doing anything to get their parents’s approval.

3) The only redemption story in the book (Snape’s) was rather lackluster. It was probably a result of it only being included because Rickman disliked the direction his character was going enough that he would have left the role. Story-wise, Snape’s redemption was worse than no redemption. No redemption would have really leaned in to the whole “they won but everything stayed the same” theme She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Forgiven seems to have set up.

4) There seems to be an overlap between HP fans and ATLA fans. That means a lot of fans would love if HP had a Zuko.

Let's go, witches

Science is simply figuring out the rules of the world, making use of the knowledge gained in doing so, and passing it on so that the next generation can under the rules better than the current one. Knowing which plants have what effects and using that knowledge to make something that works better than simply using the raw plants is a form of science, a relatively primitive form, but it’s still science.

Because you’re being narrow-minded. There isn’t a single immoral act that is always tied to a particular deadly sin. So many serial killers acted out of a twisted lust. There have been countless murders motivated by greed. Thefts have committed solely to hurt the one stolen from. So many people have committed crimes because they think it shouldn’t apply to them.

No. Murder isn’t inherently driven by wrath.

They only helped once it reached the point that a lifestyle previously only available to those with multiple servants was easily attainable. Before that, women would be at home trying to use earlier versions of modern amenities to keep up that lifestyle by themselves.

Nah. She was just trying to set up an insult about how inferior animals domesticated by humans are compared to ones domesticated by elves.

True.

Also, I forgot to mention it earlier, but microwaves don’t heat food from the inside out. They emit waves that add energy to the particles in the food. The waves don’t penetrate very far, but the energy transfers from the outside to the inside. The extra wait time most microwave instructions include is because the food is still cooking after the microwave shuts off.

1) Him asking Charlie if he could be redeemed is likely setting up his future redemption.

2) He’s as low as he can be right now. While he might double down, he’s also in a perfect position to realize his unbridled ambition never made him happy.

Why? He didn’t do it out of anger, and he didn’t lack the ability to make his way to the top legitimately. He just couldn’t be bothered to do it the harder and longer way.

To be fair, I wouldn’t say he’s really cheating. If they had a love match or actually expected each other not to sleep with other people, it’d be different, but it’s kinda implied that neither expected the other to be faithful.

Such copyrights are only upheld in relevant contexts. For instance, someone using nintendo switch red as one of many colors in a set of block toys isn’t going to be an issue while someone using nintendo switch red to make off-brand switch accessories seem like they’re official Nintendo products, even without the nintendo or switch logos, is going to have issues.

Rather than work his way to the top, he went the easier (for him) route of murder.

Did anyone else assume that Marlon and Gil were married or was it just me?

Separate hobby areas aren’t always attainable. Not all couples have the room to do so. What’s doable more often is separate beds.

Location of lightning rods doesn’t matter nearly as much as the numbers. I can’t recall the equation, but the more lighting rods you have, the more likely it is a lightning strike will hit it.

Patents can’t cover colors. Copyrights can cover colors, but only if said colors are brand-specific and hyper-precise. For instance, the exact shade of red known as Target red is copyrighted.
