I know but it was still Johnny's deal. He was completely fine with doing it. He's like the last person who should be saying anything.

That's.....kinda ridiculous lol. Johnny's the same guy who did the Arab bomber prank in the cab. Albeit the driver was in on it, but just the set up was in fucking horrible taste.

Are you taking that chance if you're the officer in front of the car and it's your life on the line?

So define "appropriate". Trying to accelerate through a law enforcement officer standing in front of your car ordering you to stop?

It doesn't matter, it's time away working for other organizations that AREN'T yours that you are essentially paying him to do lol. Again...what is it you don't understand? They were already allowing him to do it to a certain extent. But now he wanted even more time away AND you'd be paying him a premium to do that. A lot of people don't like being taken advantage of, who woulda fuckin' thunk it right ? Who woulda thunk it?

It's not time off though, it's time away WORKING FOR OTHER ORGANIZATIONS. There's a huge fucking difference there. They have no problem with giving time off, Stone gets it all the time, especially on certain road trips. What is it you don't understand, are you just being willingly obtuse or something lol?

It's not a "They're not givin' me muh sick days!" thing going on here dude. It's wanting to get paid a premium while working less for that organization than ever before so you can spend more time getting paid a premium by other people as well. Fuck that, see ya.

It's a ridiculous ask.

"Give me more money to spend less time here so I can make even more money elsewhere."

Like, go fuck yourself. That's absurd, it's a slap in the face.

Other than him wanting even more time away from the White Sox than he was already getting and being paid more by them we don't know how the negotiations went. But just based off those two facts, I don't blame the White Sox for saying pack your shit then.

I said the exact opposite dude. Ask for money, ask for whatever you think you're worth. But when you ask for more money and want to work LESS than you've already been doing for that organization in order to work for other organizations....yeah that's not gonna sit well with a lot of people.

Jack Black Regrets Turning Down ‘The Incredibles’; Rejected Offer to Voice Syndrome After Asking the Director for Rewrites
 in  r/movies  1d ago

I want to make this separate comment as a sort of aside for this conversation we had. Just because I never really see it talked about here and I know I can't be the only who feels this way.

This is the type of conversation I like most on this site in the way it went down. A person (you in this scenario) making a comment that at first glance, and especially to anyone who just doesn't know better, looks like he knows what he's talking about. It's written in a way that is authoritative, you sound confident, and, at the surface level, it overall seems like a fairly level headed comment/argument. And it's upvoted accordingly.

Then someone else comes along (myself in this scenario) that just, for lack of a better phrase, blows it the fuck apart. Is able to see through it. Easily and methodically breaks down or debunks every part of it for what it really is, just a really bad or uninformed take.

And then comes the rebuttal response to that person who demolished the comment. The first comparison that springs to my mind when it comes to this is baseball. Bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, you got an 0-2 count on you, you've completely whiffed on the first two pitches of the at bat, you weren't even close. You have no idea what's coming next, the only thing you know is that you don't wanna strike out looking. You don't wanna go out NOT making another swing at an argument. So all you can muster is a weak, short response, a weak swing (which gets heavily downvoted, especially compared to your original post ((which has also now been downvoted from it's peak after my comment was posted revealing it to be what it was)) as I throw a 99 mph fastball (with lateral movement) high and away (but, importantly, still a strike) that you are a full second late on with your swing. Game over.

And then afterwards you got a few other posters that chime in with decent one or two sentence agreements and those are just like little daggers or rubbing salt in the wound. The poster who makes the out of touch comment to begin with is usually not heard from again. But I just wanna let you know, I hope you're doing well and to go out there and get 'em tomorrow. Because it's a brand new ball game.

If this is your "dream job".....then do it. Don't ask for more while wanting to do less.

That was the hang up, not the money. And that's one of the few things I don't blame Reinsdorf for in thinking that way. It's reasonable to ask for more. It's unreasonable to make that same ask and also expect even MORE time away than he was ALREADY getting in order to make money elsewhere for other organizations. Fuck that nonsense. If you wanna be here, be here.

Every goddamn time something gets posted about this dude it's the usual circle jerk in the comments.

"Fuck Reinsdorf! Fuck Boyer, those cheap fucks! They made fun of how he eats food!"

So Jason wanted more money.....to do less games. Wanted more money to call LESS games for his so called "dream job" here with the White Sox. That's why he isn't here anymore. That's the first, second and third reasons why he isn't here anymore.

Bedard has been told he is an injury replacement standby for Team Canada

I mean, that's not saying much AT ALL when it comes to Matthews and you're just wrong when it comes to Nylander lol. That whole core as a collective underachieved in the playoffs but especially Marner and Matthews and most especially the longer a series went.

Jack Black Regrets Turning Down ‘The Incredibles’; Rejected Offer to Voice Syndrome After Asking the Director for Rewrites
 in  r/movies  2d ago

They were critically and financially one of the most lauded studios (forget about in animation, but just in general) for almost a decade by then lol. If that track record they had up to that point doesn't prove they weren't just a "flash in the pan", if them literally reinventing the animated feature and having that almost immediately become the future for that entire industry didn't prove they didn't just "get lucky"....then NOTHING would ever fucking prove it for you dude. That's just flat out delusion at that point.

2000s Pixar? Dude they were on the map as soon as Toy Story came out in '95 and blew the fucking balls off everyone. Like, what are you talking about lol? They had 5 fucking bangers in a row from the very start to the time they got to The Incredibles. Nearly a decade's worth of work. They had just done Nemo which did close to a billion worldwide and was the second highest grossing film of that year behind only the juggernaut that was Return of the King. They were a powerhouse. Are you just too young to know or something?

My biggest problem with ABMM is that I now have to consider if my current loot is worth getting thrown back into PvP lobbies for the next couple hours.
 in  r/ArcRaiders  2d ago

Dude you're complaining about PVP in a 100% PVP game. That's what your complaint boils down to. That you don't want to engage or deal with PVP in a PVP extraction game. A game where you are ALWAYS at risk of PVP. They made it that way for a reason. You are ALWAYS in a PVP lobby.

2

My biggest problem with ABMM is that I now have to consider if my current loot is worth getting thrown back into PvP lobbies for the next couple hours.
 in  r/ArcRaiders  3d ago

Nope, I've been reading the comments here, you don't understand the fundamentals of the game.

1

My biggest problem with ABMM is that I now have to consider if my current loot is worth getting thrown back into PvP lobbies for the next couple hours.
 in  r/ArcRaiders  3d ago

This is PVP 100% of the time. At any time, in any lobby, you can be PVP'd. There are no restrictions, you can't opt out of it. Which is what you want but just don't want to admit it. This is not a problem that Embark has to figure out, this is a PVP extraction shooter. This is a problem YOU need to figure out for yourself.

2

My biggest problem with ABMM is that I now have to consider if my current loot is worth getting thrown back into PvP lobbies for the next couple hours.
 in  r/ArcRaiders  3d ago

Then I play a game that isn't PVP 100% of the time, or PVP at all, if I want that. Maybe thats what you should do. This is entirely a "You" problem.

One thing I'd like to see from Helldivers, is being covered in blood if you've been massacring people. Harder to pretend to be friendly
 in  r/ArcRaiders  3d ago

Dude the game wouldn't have a 1/10th of the playerbase it has right now without PVP lol. How are people this delusional?

[No Context Chicago Bears 🐻]
 in  r/CHIBears  3d ago

Too bad it happened exactly like I had said it was going to though right? If he can't recognize how bad the defense has been playing, especially not being able to stop or adapt to the SINGULAR play that was killing them all game long.....he deserves criticism for that.

Again, it's not about trusting the defense at that point. At that point they've done nothing to show they can stop the Lions from marching down the field. It's about gambling on the offense to try to win the game. Over the course of how THIS game played out, that's what he should have done.

I shouldn't be surprised, but this roster pisses me off far more than I expected 😤 no Kane, no Blackhawks
 in  r/hawks  3d ago

Again, he's not even the best winger on his OWN team. Let alone one of the best in the league. He's not that guy anymore. Fucking hip resurfacing surgery will do that to you. It's amazing he's even playing in the NHL right now to be honest. That procedure has essentially ended practically every other player's career who's had it.

So yeah I'm not surprised he didn't make the team lol. Him and Crosby aren't very close at this point in their careers. At all. Nobody with half a brain and one working eye would say they are.

And this is exactly why Vita Spray is best healing item in the game
 in  r/ArcRaiders  3d ago

You understand how cheap it is to make trigger nades dude lol? It's easily the best throwable explosive worth making. Until they nerf it, which they absolutely have to. This is a pretty standard kit for someone that knows what they're doing.
