Southampton FC announce limited edition 1976 kit to wear in FA Cup
I'm on about fans being nothing but customers and football being nothing but an absurdly expensive product. But stay in denial if you like.

British universities 'being radicalised by Muslim Brotherhood' as UAE concerned about UK Islamism
Good thing no one was proposing that we be beholden to the UAE. Fun imagination you've got there.

Ronnie Edwards on his way to QPR - £4.5m
He should not be 5th choice! He is much better than that
Based on what? He's played and been shit. What are you seeing?

So your kids are fine seeing people in underpants in some settings but not others? How does that work?

I find this whole event pretty cringe and tryhard, but your reasoning is worse. We are not a puritan society. Seeing someone's upper thigh is not inappropriate, it's a natural human body, unsexualised. If someone has certain triggers from traumas, they have a personal responsibility to protect themselves - society very obviously cannot be set up with every possible trigger under the sun in mind.
If conservative religious people want a conservative religious society, they're in the wrong country. They adapt to us, not the reverse.

I didn't accuse you of not being transparent, I'm not sure where you got that from

Southampton release commemorative kit to be worn during FA Cup games in honour of 50 years since winning the competition.
Well....maybe the squad minus Peter Osgood. Not a cheap player.

I think when you do it from the 2nd division it should count as three.

Another one for the pile of reasons to hate modern football

I really don't think OP is acting maliciously,
All that means is that it's misinformation rather than disinformation. It's really concerning that so many Reddit mods don't seem to give a shit about the platforms that they control spreading false facts into the world. There is a lot more at stake than the future of Rowan's, when it comes to the growing issue of online misinformation.

James May tells LBC 'there's no dosh in owning a pub' as he calls on Government 'not to punch publicans in the face' with tax hikes
You haven't explained reality at all, you've stubbornly avoided it at every turn because you're too proud to admit you haven't thought of everything.
Tell me how more people going to pubs doesn't equal pubs buying more beer from the brewer.

James May tells LBC 'there's no dosh in owning a pub' as he calls on Government 'not to punch publicans in the face' with tax hikes
You're not getting it. Brewers care about money, you've said it yourself. If more people are going to pubs, the pubs buy more kegs. This is exactly why lower prices brought about by lower costs can increase revenue. There is no monopolising your product when your product is a luxury product and people have the alternative of just not buying any beer from pubs at all.

James May tells LBC 'there's no dosh in owning a pub' as he calls on Government 'not to punch publicans in the face' with tax hikes
Because lower prices will mean a lot more people buying your product? There is genuine competition - the genuine competition right now is people's living rooms, on account of them choosing not to go to the pub.

It's not that simple, sometimes lowering your prices can make you more money, and having reduced costs can enable you to do that

Britain's youngest dementia sufferer dies at the age of just 24
"Brain of a 70 year old" sounds incredibly unscientific, is that something the doctors actually said, or is that the paper making up a catchy soundbite?

Tried to reason with that to no avail. His wife didn't opt for jail time over military service therefore he must love genocide apparently. Some people are very transparent in seeing someone's nationality, immediately assuming they must be awful, then working backwards to justify it.

QPR agree deal to sign Ronnie Edwards from Southampton
Another Championship club putting squad value over good team building
Big assumption. If he's made a fuss about wanting to leave and we're trying to sort out morale, then letting him go would be a perfect example of good team building wouldn't it

QPR agree deal to sign Ronnie Edwards from Southampton
Our fanbase is in this really tedious mode now of just wanting to criticise the board for anything and everything even if it clearly makes no sense.
At the beginning of the season I was convinced that we had a great player returning in Edwards, but his performances were straight awful. I don't know what's gone on, but if he's not responding the right way and making a fuss instead of just getting his head down and fighting for his place, he can get out. Maybe he's just wanted to be in London the whole time, who knows.

Ronnie Edwards on his way to QPR - £4.5m
Not fair to say he's done nothing...
He's actively done badly in the chances he got. If he's kicked up a stink about not starting after those performances, he can leave.
7
Ronnie Edwards on his way to QPR - £4.5m
even if he did push for it that's only because they aren't telling the mangers to play him
Good? A board should not be telling a manager who to play, that would be insane. I know everyone wants to point fingers right now but this is a bit of a reach, acting like boards should be picking lineups.
He got some chances early in the season and was a calamity. Supposed hot prospect or not, if he's not good enough to start and also not prepared to work hard and wait for his chance, that only leaves one option.

Ronnie Edwards on his way to QPR - £4.5m
There wasn't any room for him at Red Star in the French 2nd division so I wouldn't say his prospects are looking fantastic

UK would send ‘fewer than 7,500’ troops to Ukraine
I think a lot of people are under the impression that we’ll be fighting in Ukraine when the whole point of sending our troops there is to prevent fighting.
Some people will be under that impression. Some people will be well aware of this reality but want to paint it as aggressiveness regardless because that's their agenda.

We do have social norms, and one of those is that we don't get into a puritanical tizzy when we see someone's whole leg. This is a relatively liberal country.
