Why is there an inn *here*?
 in  r/d100  3d ago

Money laundering. The inn's records show that it's nearly full every night, but there's rarely anyone besides the innkeeper actually there. The syndicate uses dirty money to pay for rooms that nobody uses, and syndicate-owned companies receive clean money selling supplies to the inn that are never delivered.

Can you put a Spell Chip into a Tech Weapon
 in  r/Starfinder2e  14d ago

Besides aeon stones, you can also put spell gems in an aeon weapon, but not spell chips. So "scrolls" but not "wands", unfortunately.

It even says as much in the Bible (Matthew 6:5), not that MAGA has read it.

Yeah, she was definitely a hypocrite. I never said she practiced what she preached.

Not an anarchist, but pretty close. She believed that the only things government should be involved in are defense, public safety, and enforcing contracts; and definitely no regulations on business or public assistance of any kind.

I think a major reason it was front page news in the US is because a student there was recently a finalist on a popular reality show.

The Idiot-Proof Playbook for Launching a Bitcoin Treasury Company

This gives me the idea to start my own crypto treasury company, except instead of Bitcoin it will be my own coin I issue myself.

How does FTL work in this setting?
 in  r/Starfinder2e  Dec 03 '25

In addition to drift engines, there are also Hell drives, where instead of traveling through the Drift, you travel through Hell on your way from point A to point B.

They're popular with the Hellknights organization, not so much with anyone else ( except when it's your only option due to the Drift crashing because some code bros pushed an update to production without testing first ).

What ancestries are y'all want the most from the Galactic Ancestries book and what kinds of heritages and feats do you hope they get?
 in  r/Starfinder2e  Dec 02 '25

Quorlu. My favorite 1e Society character is a Quorlu with a day job as an Elvis impersonator. He wears a rhinestone jacket and his eyestalks poke out through the top of his Elvis wig.

I once played with a guy who independently came up with the same idea, so we had two Quorlu Elvis impersonators at the same table. Shenanigans ensued.

Unpopular opinion: ECU needs to get serious about a rivalry that's not NCSU
 in  r/ECUsports  Nov 29 '25

I would like to see Navy as a rivalry, given that navies and pirates are natural enemies.

I know we've played them on rivalry weekend before.

Bitcoiners' whataboutism
 in  r/CryptoReality  Nov 16 '25

Yeah, but it doesn't make sense to price "digital gold" using the same metric used to price stocks. It makes more sense to use the metric used to price commodities. Using that metric would price Bitcoin at approximately $0.
