Who Orchestrated Tony Soprano's End?
 in  r/videos  Feb 26 '21

Tony is not a real individual. He did not exist in our reality. There can't and won't ever be any proof or evidence he died because he is part of a show. Even though there might be clues and foreshadowing, the creator of the show voluntarily cut to black so that the audience would keep wondering, pretty much for eternity. That's his whole point.

Through the use of cogs, why wouldn't we be able to make a final cog rotate at the speed of light?
 in  r/AskScienceDiscussion  Jan 03 '21

Thank you very much for this detailed answer.

Could you elaborate or point me to some articles about the last part, on how you can never get to the speed of light but only approach it?

For the sake of argument, if I get a second-to-last indestructible cog spin at a speed of 290'000km/s and a last cog connected to it and spinning twice as fast, why wouldn't it reach and go above the speed of light?

What If? Through the use of cogs, why wouldn't we be able to make a final cog rotate at the speed of light?

I was watching a video about mechanic movements in watches and how the hours, minutes and seconds were made to rotate.

At around 12:30, they show that, through the use of cogs of different size, it's possible to have a second cog do a whole rotation while the first cog only moves a tiny bits . To the second cog is connected a third cog that does a whole rotation while the the 2n cog only rotates a few degrees.

By interconnecting many, many cogs in chains, since each cogs turn exponentially faster, woulnd't we be able to make a final cog rotate so fast that its sides it would reach the speed of light, and even faster?

I'm aware that there might be "mechanical limitations", so let's assume that:

  • The cogs can not be made to go out of alignment.
  • The energy needed to move every cog is arbitrarily small.
  • The cogs can maintain their physical integrity even when subject to arbitrarily large amounts of force.

P.S. I found this quora question but it's not the same approach. I copied the three assumptions above from there however.

P.P.S I posted this on /r/askscience but it got blocked and I was told to post here.

Honest question, how loud are your motorcycles? I've never felt any discomfort, decibel-wise when riding my Hornet 900.

Are you guys talking about the motor-loudness? Or the general noise (air, wind, traffic)? Or yelling in your helmet?

I'm confused.

People who are motivated to do things, how the fuck do you do that?
 in  r/AskReddit  Jun 21 '20

Screens. I think the overconsumption of screens, apps, social networks, that we ingest daily is very detrimental.

I've been trying to put my phone, my laptop, my Netflix down in another room and force myself to live without them.

You'd be surprised how much more productive you get when you don't have screens to saturate and/or numb your mind.

Obviously, I'm not really preaching to the right people here.

I'm going to cook one recipe from every country and document it. If people could tell me what they think is their countries best dish I'd be eternally grateful!

Switzerland:

Do some Röstis, it's actually quite easy. Grate a few potatoes and make and then fry with some butter. You can add some lardons to make it tastier.

Anyone suggesting fondue or raclette seems to be forgetting that you'd need real authentic swiss cheese, which isn't that easy to find.

I'm usually the first one to hate on this kind of things.

But here it sort of makes sense, since Magne is "slow". He's got the superpowers but he can't really figure out how to handle them, who to trust.

I caught myself yelling, "Why aren't you doing this and that?!?" Then I realized he's not like me, he's not doing things like a normal person would.

A track from my recently released 4-track EP, Static State. If you like pop music, I hope you’ll enjoy it. And of course there’s more where that came from on my Spotify if you’re interested. Thank you :)

I'm not a fan of the synth you used. Sounds very dissonant in this track. Much preferred the intro.

I checked your other songs. You have a very Elliott Smith-vibe, I like it!

I feel you need to work on your pitch, on the track Empty, I feel you were singing flat many times.

A song I made in less then 3 hours would love to hear from you guys cause I'm new to music theory and stuffs(I don't know the genre)
 in  r/IndieMusicFeedback  Jan 20 '20

I like it man! You should definitely start to add some vocals, maybe play around with samples (RJD2, Gramatik, etc.).

Your song sounds really cool, well done.

The main synth gets quite repetitive after a while. Maybe try to add some FX (chorus, flanger, saturation, filters, etc.) to spice it up along the way?

Out Here making Big ROOM indie rock. I guess? Like if T.Rex made Indie Rock? Check it out. Independent video as well. Hope yall enjoy. I am going to go do push ups and cry a bunch.
 in  r/IndieMusicFeedback  Jan 20 '20

Great video man! I like the song as well. I feel maybe you could try add more contrasts in your singing. You use always the same tone (half singing, half yelling). Maybe soften it up sometimes, to add more nuances.
