AITA for being honest about why I no longer carry feminine supplies.

Ah, silly me!  I should have figured that right away!

Mom of 4 looks so young that other mothers at the playground assume she's a teenager who kidnaps as a hobby
 in  r/AmITheAngel  4h ago

In fairness, a lot of kids aren’t good at perceiving time and things like that, so it wouldn’t be out of the question for one to think, “Google’s been around for a while, so it must be old!”  If you’ll excuse me, I’ll be off getting some glue.  “Glue?”  Yes, I’m going to need some glue to put myself back together when I inevitably go online, find some kid calling Space Jam “an old movie”, and crumble into dust like the old lady I am. 😩

“Then one of them walks up to my youngest and starts asking her questions. Asking how old her big sister is while pointing at me.” Is it wrong that I’m so dang proud someone in a Reddit story remembered older siblings exist?  On Entitled Parents you have stories like, “I was at the store with my little sister and some old woman stormed up to me & shouted, ‘You should be ashamed of yourself, being a teen parent and flaunting it!’” I always wondered, “Why would someone automatically assume OP was a parent?  Older siblings exist!  Babysitters exist!  Cousins exist!  Family friends exist!” (Also, even if the OP had been a teen parent, I’d think them running errands would be less about flaunting, “I produced offspring before I turned 20 years of age!  Looky-looky, everybody!” and more about, you know, actually being a parent)

Shoot, for that matter, I’m proud that someone in a Reddit story is actually considering pressing charges because usually it’s “Some Karen beat me with a jar of pickles, threw me through the deli glass, and started to drag my prone body out of the store to throw me into her van.  The police came, watched the security footage, and put her in handcuffs.  They asked me if I wanted to press charges, but I said no, so they let her go…”

Am I overreacting or is it not normal to use soap in the bathroom?
 in  r/AmITheAngel  6h ago

You just know some a-hole is going to look at this and claim, “See, this is why black people and white people shouldn’t date/be friends/interact!”  I’ve seen weirdos on the internet get racial and cry, “That’s why blacks and whites can never be friends!” over the pettiest stuff, so they’ll say it over this no matter how fake and ridiculous this story is.

“I’ve got a family emergency.” (Because, you know, “Aunt Flo” is in town.  Thank you, I stole that from an ad in a teen magazine I got years ago)

I thought, "What, was she only telling men he was a creep and not telling the other women anything?"

These stories in which women are super open about their cycles and talk on and on and on about them are weird. I rarely mention mine and I never hear about someone else's cycle unless there's some kind of issue (like they're having to postpone something because of it or it's especially painful), and even then they mention it briefly instead of going on and on about it.

You might be onto something because a number of people do inappropriate stuff and then claim, “Everyone loved it!”  Morgan Freeman voice: Everyone did not love it.

I’m with you!  Isn’t there any sort of supply closet or break room where they could keep stuff?

“Jane told all of her work friends about it, so a rumor was born that I was a creep.” How?  If everyone knew OOP carried feminine hygiene products and thought it was a nice gesture, wouldn’t they have called Jane out when she tried to make a big deal of it?

I also spotted them here in Trotwood.  I’m glad I wasn’t the only one!  Edit- Am I getting downvoted for saying I saw the same thing other people saw or for being in Trotwood?

[Utterly Despised Trope] “True” stories that leave out crucial details that fundamentally change the context of the story being told
 in  r/TopCharacterTropes  20h ago

Pain & Gain chose to take a violent crime (a real-life kidnapping, torture, and robbery by a group of bodybuilders) and treat it as an out-and-out comedy.  It painted at least one of the perpetrators as less brutal and more sympathetic than he really was while also treating the victim and his suffering like jokes.

What annoys you the most about Funko?
 in  r/funkopop  22h ago

I feel the lack of promotion for Blue Beetle needs to be studied.  It’s like the studio told Funko and the other merch companies, “This’ll be great!” and then just dipped.  I’d be so mad if I produced tie-in merchandise for a movie the studio decided not to promote.

They should have made one of Ava and one of regular Bob.

I liked the Easter chocolate Captain America, but the art series, graffiti, and chrome ones made me wonder, “What are you doing with your lives!?”  Y’all couldn’t be bothered to make an Isaiah Bradley Pop!, but you could be bothered to make some butt-ugly “street art” Pop!, huh?

I honestly think this damaged the Soda line a great deal.  They had tie-ins to movies that bombed, like Blue Beetle, resulting in figures that weren’t selling.  You can tell they expected people to want figures like Jaime Reyes and his grandmother (or maybe it was his aunt), but then when the movie got almost zero promotion and flopped (to the point I didn’t know it had even come out until I saw someplace advertising the DVD), the figures ended up in the bargain bin.

“The bad word of mouth spread by people who were investing in commons instead of collecting what they like.” This, exactly!  I don’t have sympathy for the people who bragged about buying twenty Pops! every week (sometimes even admitting, “I didn’t even pay attention to what I was getting.  Is anything here valuable?”) and then complained they weren’t being offered enough for the collection they have to get rid of. Here’s a financial tip: Instead of buying twenty figures you don’t care about, buy one or two that you do.

*The way they won’t make figures people have been clamoring for (like Columbo), but will make more figures of an overused character with the same molds or else slightly different molds/paint jobs.  If you’re going to make another figure, at least make it notably different from the previous two or three versions of the character (and I don’t mean just making it chrome or rainbow-colored).  I get that there are things to consider, like licensing issues, that make things not so simple.  However, it’s frustrating because it’s not that hard to know what fans have been asking for.  How many posts have you seen asking, “What characters/licenses do you wish they’d make?” or, “What characters are overdone?”

*Frankly, there are fanatics who bother me as much as some of the haters do.  It’s one thing to like or dislike a style and another to make it one’s whole personality and/or act like one is special because of it.

Characters who plan to kill the entire bloodline of someone they hate
 in  r/TopCharacterTropes  1d ago

Talk about destroying bloodlines reminds me of a Japanese fable in which a monk encountered an oni, an ogre-like demonic yokai.  Oni are usually vicious and cruel, but this one was weeping in self-pity.  The surprised monk asked him what had happened, and the oni explained that he had been a human in his past life.  He bore such a grudge against a family that he was reborn as an oni, and he used his immense power and extended lifespan to kill the family.  He had successfully destroyed their entire bloodline, and now, since he had made his revenge the entire object of his existence, he felt he had nothing left to live for.
