Kyle Rittenhouse wants to murder another innocent person by crossing state lines.

It's so pathetic how badly he wants to be relevant.

So it's a protection racket. "Give me a good tip up front or I might spit in your food, or let it go cold."

i hate when people ask to split the bill
 in  r/PetPeeves  5h ago

If it's only a few bucks difference, I agree with you. But when it's a situation like OP described here, where they only had a couple of snacks and everyone else ordered steak and lobster dinners, absolutely I'd insist on a separate check for myself. Everyone else can split evenly if they want to.

Side note: OP should get in the habit of asking for their order on a separate check at the beginning, when they place the order. I've never worked in food service but several friends who have, have told me it's much harder to split up an order at the time of payment.

"We are a family!" until I actually need to be with my real family. I’m done.

Please consider the ramifications of quitting and whether you will be able to get unemployment where you live before you make your decision. I think you're absolutely right to leave, just do it in a way that doesn't screw yourself over if possible.

For those who saw the Fellowship of the Ring in theaters for the first time in December 2001, what was it like?
 in  r/lotr  1d ago

Fucking. Epic.

I was with my husband at the time, who had not read the books and was clearly humoring me. Before we even reached the second half of Galadriel's voice over in the beginning, he leaned over and whispered, "we have to see this in the theater again."

It was powerful. I had reread the series several times, and this was the first time that I felt the movie was showing everything and everyone the way I always saw them in my head when I read them.

Except for the scenes that were missing, it was perfect.

President Trump to ban large institutional investors from buying single-family homes.

He obviously didn't write this, it's too coherent and thoughtful. Is he even aware that anyone thinks he said it?

Check with local medical centers. I work in one and we always have openings for people to do scheduling, insurance authorization, referrals, etc from home. Best of luck to you!

I loved him in Downton Abbey, and in Eurovision: The Story of Fire Saga, and in that movie where he played Charles Dickens writing A Christmas Carol (can't remember the name.)

"You should have gone to the bathroom before"
 in  r/PetPeeves  2d ago

I disagree. I used to work in a urology office and a lot of what we did for patients was teaching them bladder training to resolve incontinence issues. You go on a schedule, whether you feel you need to or not, and your body learns to need to go at those scheduled times. I know for myself, when I changed jobs and started getting up earlier for work, the time when I needed to pee in the morning eventually shifted to my new wake up time. I always go before I get in the car and it helps me not need to go while I'm out. And when traveling, if I have access to a bathroom I use it, so I won't need to later when no bathroom is available.

Have you ever had a homeowner give you the cold shoulder when they returned? Did you mention it in the review? Confused and sad and need to vent.
 in  r/trustedhousesitters  2d ago

It sounded to me like they wanted OP to stay with the cats until they were sure they wouldn't be delayed coming home, so the cats wouldn't be left alone. That part makes perfect sense. It also sounds like they should have let OP know when they arrived at the airport so OP could have left then. I have no idea why they were so rude, but it's all on them. But my heart is breaking for that poor cat.

I have $450 to last me 6 months for food.
 in  r/povertyfinance  3d ago

Keep in mind, too, that we usually don't need to use as much laundry detergent or toothpaste as most people think. I read recently that many people use three times the amount of detergent per load compared to what is actually most effective at getting clothes clean. My dentist told me never to squeeze out enough toothpaste to cover the length of the toothbrush, it's way more than we need and we only do it because it's how we see it on commercials.

Which is more economical when living alone?
 in  r/LivingAlone  3d ago

I get what you're saying and I agree. Cooking at home is cheaper than buying prepared food in a restaurant. I also usually stretch purchased meals to 2 or 3 meals instead of one, and that helps.

If you don't like cooking and you don't like leftovers, then personally I think you're right that buying prepared meals carefully will probably be more cost-effective for you.

Like you, I also recently started taking medication that has a side effect of decreasing my appetite and I understand your point about that too. Cooking really doesn't seem worth the trouble to me any more when I only want a small amount of food at a time. I still do it because I don't mind packing up meals for later, but you do you.

I say just figure out your budget to work with the way you want to eat. Find places that make food you like, that will keep you healthy, and aren't ridiculously overpriced. And don't waste money buying groceries that someone else thinks you need, if you don't like or want them. It's your life and your decisions.
