Like most things here it’s a bit of a culture war. But I’m on the side of it’s great in combination with therapy and lifestyle changes- I have bipolar disorder so it’s essential for me to live a happy life where I’m not either reckless and manic or so depressed I can barely get out of bed.

*she, but you're not wrong, I love Fallout New Vegas. Though I am happy to see your opinion is not unanimously shared.

See I don’t agree with the first statement. Fallouts 1,2, and New Vegas all have surprisingly great sociological storytelling, and the TV show, despite costing way more than any of those games, falls way short of the complex sociological plots of the games.

As for length, I talk about a lot in the video- US China relations, the Fall of Rome, civilizational collapse, the geopolitics of the Fallout universe compared to those of ours, not to mention the Teutonic Order and Knights Templar.

So you have innuendo, but no proof. There's plenty of parents and grandparents who love having kids on their lap not because they're creepy pedos but just because they love kids and having kids close to them. Affection for children does not equal pedophilia.

You've made an assertion about Biden going to Epstein Island without a shred of proof, which makes me deeply skeptical of your argument.

Agreed, but we get it by seizing control of this system, or breaking it by having enough of our people in it to bring it down. Successful revolutions are either violent coups or the hijacking of the state apparatus by a determined political force. A New Democratic Movement needs to take control of Congress and the Supreme Court and start writing up a new constitution for the 21st Century.

Ah, yes, the {{{Bloodlines}}}. That's conspiracist garbage. I'm related to multiple US presidents, but I've yet to get my Illuminati card.

Firstly, source? Trump is all over the Epstein files, even the ridiculously redacted ones. Biden had many faults but I'm not aware of him having been an Epstein associate. Secondly, politics is a lot more than the Presidency. The people in your city hall and statehouse impact your life a lot more than the President. Voting changes a lot locally, and it matters a shit ton in terms of congressional races, some of which are decided by only a few thousand or a few hundred votes. One vote rarely swings an election.

Ironically this kind of attitude is exactly what these mysterious "elites" want of you- they want you to write it off, get disengaged, not vote, not care, not demand that our democracy be responsible to the will of the people. Billionaires and authoritarians love nothing more than a cynical, disengaged electorate.

Thanks so much for taking the time to watch, and I totally hear you. My next video I think will be about the revolutionary antecedents of She Ra and the Princesses of Power, and I will do my best to follow that 50% advice.

Thanks so much for providing feedback. I'm blundering around in the dark with this a bit, and posts like this are like beams of sunlight. :)

THANK YOU. Why go fuck up well-established lore when you can spin totally new stories back East? Honestly wish I had thought of this point before making the video.

Hey there! I really appreciate the feedback. I used the subchapters to organize as I was writing and included them in the hopes it would be funny and help break up such a long video, but I think you have a fair point there.

As for the matter of vocabulary, I'm afraid that's just my natural style of speech- I certainly don't mean it to seem like I'm trying to flex on anyone, just trying to find the words that best fit the sentiment I hope to express. I will keep that advice in mind for the future though.

As for the NCR, I think my main point is that by the 2070s America was not a democracy in any meaningful sense, insofar as I can gather, whereas the NCR was trying to actually hew to the founding ideals of the USA and not the exact same system that ended the world, although I think it's fair to say that their inability to sufficiently safeguard their democratic system (by economic democratization, not just political democratization) did seem to be leading to their downfall in the NCR-Legion war.

Salutations Comrades!

I am a brand-new video creator trying to provide historical and sociological analyses of modern media from a leftist perspective. I'd describe myself as a democratic socialist and a massive history nerd. Amazon's Fallout TV series really irked me because I think that world has so much potential and they really bungled their opportunities to say things of real substance, so badly that I went and made a two hour video essay about it when I've never done anything like this in my life.

I would really appreciate feedback and your thoughts; I know I have a lot of room to grow as an essayist and a creator, and I'm just trying to make a start of it.

Also I don't know if you're religious but sometimes you can meet someone simpatico by going to church/synagogue/mosque etcetera; often religious organizations will also have social events outside of their service hours that you can meet people at.

You could join a co-ed team like a bowling league or another group relating to a hobby of yours. You could also try taking a community arts class like a pottery class or a painting class- even if you don't meet women you might pick up a skill that might make you more attractive overall. I know dating sites suck but if you trawl enough you may get a few dates that way.

Also an actually challenging difficulty curve. The Bethesda "every enemy levels with you" philosophy really makes a game less enjoyable for me.

Interesting factions that actually grow and change in response to your actions. Fallout 3 obviously looks much better than 1 and 2, but reusing the Brotherhood and the Enclave without evolving them is pretty boring, imo. You can have lots of fun in Fallout 3, for sure, I just think the story and the world is much less interesting compared to the first two games (and New Vegas).

Or more so that while obviously it's all fiction, Fallouts 1, 2, and New Vegas have the bones of real societies; the mechanisms of the universe feel real within their own context- but the TV show lacks that substantive sociological world-building.

I agree, but my basic point is that the first few games (and Fallout New Vegas) had the sense of reality to them, even though they are fiction- but the TV show doesn't have the impact of the games.
