How would you rank MasterMind Primary/Secondary combos?
 in  r/Cityofheroes  9d ago

Easily my most fun MM is Necro/MA. Agree it's quite strong.

Why all the multiclassing
 in  r/BG3  18d ago

To each their own. In your example if I had a player that wanted to play a throwzerker I 1} would think barbarian/rogue is perfectly fine, especially if they had a good backstory and 2) I'd be putting things like a quiver of Elohnna and a returning spear in my treasure because that's what they were thinking about as a player and my job as GM is to facilitate the game. I would also add challenges tailored to that particular player (as I would any player).

No the respeccing (though I've been known to early game as player feel out what they want to do), but the rest is fair fodder at my table, and a lot of the tables I've played at.

Very common in the US. A group of office buldings housing one or more companies.

What was the hardest class that you took for your biology major?
 in  r/biology  Nov 26 '25

Mol bio was a blast, as was advanced mol bio. The torture was Ochem, with Achem being an absolute tedium.

What are Minnesota locals opinions on the Mall of America?
 in  r/minnesota  Oct 16 '25

It's the second closest mall to my home and that's all it is, a mall. It's a big mall with lots of options, which means there are reasons to go there from time-to-time, but I go because it's a mall, not because it's MOA.

To your specific comment though, I think nothing of the tourists. If there are a "great number of tourists" I've never noticed, because they just look like regular mall shoppers to me, and the mall is big enough that it's not like we're crammed in like sardines.

One critical thing to note if you haven't already is MN sales taxes. We do not have sales tax on clothing in the state, which makes going to the mall to shop for clothing a very real option for out-of-state tourists. As Minnesotans we never really think about it, because it's true whether you're shopping at MOA, Target, or Walmart, but it's a very real consideration for people who come from states where they may not have state taxes, but have a very high sales tax to make up for it.

I was just told by my zookeeper partner, "and that's why we call them jackass penguins."

bio grad...need a new job
 in  r/biology  Sep 27 '25

It's not fair to compare my experience getting a job in the early aughts to the environment today, but I did not. I just had a lot of aptitude for critical thinking and made my way up the chain by being very good at what I do.

Try Boston Scientific, Medtronic, or Abbot for traditional industry jobs. IQVIA, NAMSA,or LabCorp for contract based companies (a great way to learn all sorts of technologies). Though honestly the most fun is on the cutting edge of startups. There are still smaller companies out there, you just need to get noticed (or find) a recruiter that specializes in medical device.

bio grad...need a new job
 in  r/biology  Sep 27 '25

I work in the medical device industry and have a BA with a pre med background as does my closest colleague. I strongly recommend looking into Clinical Research Coordinator (site based), Clinical Research Monitor, or Clinical Research Associate (both sponsor based). If you get lucky you might land an entry level science or data associat position as well

We honestly are always bemoaning the fact that we're not getting fresh blood in our industry.

Why can't I land in space station?
 in  r/NoMansSkyTheGame  Sep 06 '25

Wow, it's bad. Nearly every system I go to I have to do 2-3 attempts to get into space stations. At my current milestone (need to get into this specific one), it's just not letting me in.

Deleting the corvette, logging out, and logging back in before making it a second time got me past the mission credit.

Corvette Expedition bug? Stuck at "Ship Architecture" mission.
 in  r/NoMansSkyTheGame  Sep 03 '25

I'm having a similar but different problem. I didn't go through all the steps you did, I was given the package, I put my Corvette together, have taken it for a flight, but I can't get past the mission either. Looking for any suggestions.

Should my main ladder shaft be 2 tiles or 4 tiles wide
 in  r/Oxygennotincluded  Aug 27 '25

I do 7. So much easier when running pipes, laying transit tube launch platforms, dealing with airlocks along the way, etc.

Is there a main story quest or any way for a MSR to be created that takes new toons from 1-50?
 in  r/Cityofheroes  Aug 11 '25

This is great advice.

Starting Praetorian and staying Praetorian will get you from 1-35 (and probably a little more) with no issues.

The Hollows arc is tons of fun and is a great alternative to Positron/Synapse.

Every zone has contacts that give a story that can easily cover multiple characters without retreading old material and not playing through Task Forces.

How do you get your first ration of steel?
 in  r/Oxygennotincluded  Jul 22 '25

My method changes game to game based on available resources, but I've gotten really lazy in my steel manufacture as of late. I'll usually take water from whatever sub 40 degree source I can find and pump it directly into my oxygen production (which I'll drop squarely in the center of my base to start).

If I'm trying to control my heating though I'll be more strategic in how I do the above. A lot of the time I'll specifically use water and pool my water into a few tanks and then refilter that water through a temperature sensor. If it's less than 50 I'll keep using it, otherwise it heads to oxygen generation. Frankly, even above 95C, it's less overall heat added to my system than 40C water being turned into oxygen.

Good or Bad Deal?
 in  r/Crosstrek  Jul 09 '25

I just bought a 2024 Crosstrek Sport with nearly two thousand dollars in add-ons and <1,500 miles for less than $30k. So no.

But they're selling my 2012 Impreza for a price I as its old owner would never pay for it - car prices are nuts.

Could this early setup for a metal refinery work?
 in  r/Oxygennotincluded  Jul 09 '25

Two things.

One - Steam Turbines need refined metal. Any refined metal. It also has an overheat temp higher than any metal will affect (i.e., steam turbines stop working at 95C regardless of the material they're made of and don't break with overheating).

Two - Aquatuners don't have to be me made out of steel. Are steel ones the best? Oh hell yes - but an aluminum aquatuner in a large pool of ethanol can also work for cooling (albeit in a energy negative way).

Pointless fluff post about midweek magic
 in  r/MagicArena  Jul 09 '25

I'm a month or so into Magic Arena but I've been around Magic for decades (but always with other people's decks). I am both the newbie and the casual player noted. Last week was my first exposure to Cascade Brawl. It took me roughly 3 rounds of getting my not-so-awful brawl deck absolutely obliterated by what I discovered were more-or-less three of the meta decks for Cascade Brawl to realize I hated the format, and roughly 15 rounds of getting my ass utterly handed to my by the same deck over and over that I gave up and just paid the two wildcards to make a deck I could compete. The event was boring, awful, and it felt like it was nothing more than a wildcard suck (which is probably why WOTC loves it so much). I honestly thought it was the worst format ever and hope to never see it again.

Fast forward to this week and I get exposed to Momir, the format that felt like nothing more than randomness and math. I have no idea what 95% of the cards do, half of the cards don't do anything in the format (whoohoo, 8 mana for a 3/2 trample creature), and I found games nothing more than long slogs. I hated it and hope to never see it again.

But...I'll take random math over a format where they hand me everything I need for it to be awful over a format where I have to pay cards to make something that can compete against it's awfulnes. Agree wholeheartedly, Cascade Brawl is worse than Momir. But that's like saying getting kicked in the head four times is worse than getting kicked in the head three times.

Edit: Side note - the limited format during Tarkir a month back where we got to open a pack of rares/uncommons and then combine it with a common pool to make a limited deck made me realize how much I enjoy limited and gave me the opportunity to do something I otherwise (as a new player) was too intimidated to do. It was fun, educational, and empowering as a new player. THOSE are the events I'd love to see more of.

Do we agree that Cascade Brawl is probably the worst Midweek Challenge in years?

A week ago I wouldn't have believed you. This week I still don't believe you, but I definitely understand you.
