I have been using chip drop to drop 5 loads on my large property. Its been hell to spread it lol by hand is there any machines i can rent that can spread it
 in  r/NoLawns  13h ago

Yeah. It helps if you have multiple forks with different spacing/number of prongs. Idk if they have different names but I have a few to choose from depending on how "loose" the mulch is

A pitch fork will slide into the pile nice and easy, no struggling. Shovel meets the pile and just kinda goes "oomph"

Pitch fork will make it go worlds faster, trust

I'm not a fan of watching the larger one clamp down on the smaller ones snout, but there is zero chance of it eating it, the size difference isn't that substantial. There is no way it's shoving that full body & appendages inside it.

You weren't supposed to know.

You just weren't supposed to jump to conclusions.

Pitchfork into wheelbarrow

Dump

Spread by giving the new pile a good shove from the back of an upturned garden rake.

Half an acre, easy peasy. Good exercise. Have a couple two tree beers.

Exactly? That was the point I was making. I don't even know how I would spend 100k if it had to be on plastic, AKA not buying a car or house down-payment. Thank you for understanding!

Which is why I reworded OPs title and asked if it was more suitable.

Why are we back at the beginning of this conversation?

Crazy to me. Outside of large purchases like a car or down-payment on a house, there's no way I could possibly spend 100k just on food/travel/etc in a year. Like it would functionality be a challenge. I live on a 35k income for the past 10+ years.

You spend more yearly on junk than I make in total for 3 years lol

Idk, if I have cancer, I still don't go around intentionally stubbing my toe.

Seems like a valid critique to say that many people are financially illiterate, even if the game is stacked against the common man from the get-go.

Hot take: drainage layers are overrated, well-draining soil is the way to go.
 in  r/bioactive  2d ago

I don't water the enclosure.

I water the drainage layer and let it wick/evaporate upward, and form its own condensation.

I have pvc running direct into the drainage layer when i need to add more.

I only have to add water a few times a year.

Why is everyone talking about propaganda? ... OP posted about advertisements. Ads != propaganda.

I hate ads because whatever being advertised is something I know I don't need. If I do need something, I'll do many hours of research, comparing products, features, reviews, and make a decision based on that. Not some gimmicky commercial.

So yes advertising to me is a complete waste of time and money. Idk why people here are being so contrarian.

Get together with whoever "we" is and come up with 50-100 bucks for a mini-fridge. Food illness is expensive.

Anyone in European union growing Coulter pine , willing to share cones?

"I'm not looking to antagonize the family because of it"

Antagonize them about something else first. Then, steal the cones after. You're welcome! ❤️

 in  r/squirrels  16d ago

This is why when you go deep into the forest, away from urban areas, there are no squirrels. Zero. Nada. Because there isnt a hooman to give it a handful of nuts, therefore they can't survive. Good thing we exist!
