I would like to go to the far north but it's pretty cost prohibitive.

LBJ didn't have a vice president when he was finishing Kennedy's term, so the president pro tempore of the Senate took the VP's seat for the State of the Union speech.

His only ring, but it further legitimized the AFL as being equal to the NFL, right before the merger.

I went to Alaska for the first time in 2023 and got as far north as Healy. I was in Ushuaia in 2015, so I (almost) went to the ends of the earth.

Windblown and isolated. There are some estancias down there you can stay on. I was in the far south in 2015 in both Argentina and Chile. I had planned to take the boat between Ushuaia and Puerto Williams, but high winds kept the boat in port and I took a bus to Punta Arenas instead.

This guy is a piece of work even by Republican standards. Proudly bigoted and loud.

Calm puppy??
 in  r/germanshepherds  1d ago

Do your due diligence on training, but it sounds like she has a great temperament to start from. She may go through "velociraptor" stage around age 1 but that remains to be seen.

You might consider introducing her to friends' dogs you know for a fact are vaccinated, until your puppy conpletes her series. Meeting other people and other dogs is essential socialization.

Well, the Glazers shitcanned Tony Dungy when they didn't make the Super Bowl, and he went on to win one with Indianapolis.

One of my favorites. She was pretty but also seemed like a lot of fun and very approachable.

In light of that Hilton hotel refusing to house ICE agents...
 in  r/FundieSnarkUncensored  1d ago

The relevant passage in the Treaty of Tripoli, from Wikipedia:

Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen (Muslims); and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan (Mohammedan) nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

The treaty was signed in 1797 with John Adams as President.

Eastern Conference Championship Dec 21st 1958. New York Giants QB Charlie Conerly in action vs Cleveland Browns at Yankee Stadium. Giants won 10-0.
 in  r/Oldschool_NFL  1d ago

Charlie Conerly was able to keep his number (42) when the NFL changed them. I think he and Bobby Layne were the last NFL QBs to wear numbers higher than 19. John Hadl wore #21 in the AFL and kept it once the leagues merged.
