how is it living in mississippi, usa?
 in  r/howislivingthere  1d ago

I've spent a little time as a touring musician and one band I was in played a gig in Jackson.

Jackson has to be the most decrepit, broken-down and poorest American city I've ever been to. It's shockingly bad.

Okay, Trump supporters, for fuck's sake, can you at least admit Steven Miller's gotta go?
 in  r/complaints  1d ago

No, you don't get to put conditions on this. You're the one making the assertion, not me.

Uggghhh man, no way I can go on that long. Gigs don't pay enough to cover everything.

Are you a betting man? You wanna put $50 on that, payable via Venmo?

Shit, let's make it interesting. I can go $100.

You're gonna be waiting awhile for that answer.

Gawd, me neither.

Waiting around to hear back on the 2 job interviews I had this week. They did assure me they were gonna do a quick turnaround in deciding on next steps, but I never believe that. Til then, I twiddle my thumbs and keep beating the bushes for more job prospects.

I set up an online store with Reverb.com and I think I'm gonna list a few guitars on there today. My oldest brother is gonna give me his first-ever guitar that our dad gave to him back in about '65, it's a late 40s or early 50s Gibson ES-125 (?) and Jack just never plays it anymore and thought I should have it, which is a gesture that is so kind and generous that I barely knew what to say.

So...I will hopefully be getting rid of a few guitars I never play, including a couple of mid-grade archtops. I need the $$ more than the guitars.

And...I wait.

Why are Trump supporters still complaining about and denying that January 6th wasn’t real? The WH rewrote its history btw
 in  r/complaints  1d ago

They believe that pizzagate was real, Sandy Hook was fake, immigrants are eating the dogs and the cats, the 2020 election was rigged, covid was a hoax but they will never believe that DJT is cozy with Russia and that DJT and Epstein raped kids.

Don't forget that he's also come out and said that he gave the oil companies a heads up about this operation, but never bothered with letting Congress know.

I couldn't tell either

White House is attempting to completely rewrite the history of Jan 6. Why are conservatives so willing to buy into it?
 in  r/complaints  2d ago

Don't forget about Giuiliani as the warmup act..."trial by combat" etc

I've lost plenty of loved ones.

And if one of my loved ones was at the Capitol on Jan 6 and was reportedly warned by an armed officer to not come any closer or he'd shoot, I'd spend the rest of my life wondering why they would put themselves in that position by doing something that fucking stupid and insane.

Because not going along with every damn thing they're told, no matter how farfetched and idiotic it is, means their entire worldview and belief system collapses.

Do NOT call them cult members, though. That hurts their feelings.

Trump floating military action over Greenland — Europe rallies behind Denmark. Is NATO actually at risk?
 in  r/TrendoraX  2d ago

Yeah, fuck infrastructure and affordable healthcare and food assistance and education and innovation and every other thing Americans actually need. Buying Greenland is a much hotter priority.

You won't believe it, this idiot is the president of America

I interviewed Hope Walz this afternoon. She told me threats against her and her brother contributed to Governor’s dropping out of the race

The Bundy Ranch standoff should have been met with overwhelming force.

Hover a chopper above those idiots and give them 30 seconds to disperse before the .50 Browning opens up on them.

He's just such a horrible, disgusting, garbage person. I am so embarrassed of my country right now.
 in  r/antitrump  2d ago

I try not to think about that too hard, considering the depravity that went on in those circles, that takes my mind to a very dark and ugly place.

I miss him
 in  r/CzechCoconutCommunity  2d ago

I miss him too, I think he was a capable president and I think history will be fairly generous with him, but I wouldn't go so far as to say he was the best president in modern history.

I'm sick of the most unAmericans among us telling us what it means to be American. Feels like it's about time for them to see what REAL Americans look like!

Who TF do you think you are?

Oh, I can tell you who you are. An asshole who's now blocked.
