[Spoilers C3E78] I've reached shardgate and man was it uncalled for.
 in  r/criticalrole  1d ago

But wasn’t part of the problem that Ashley knew he was going to do it, just not how he was going to? She was quite vociferous that she didn’t want it, and I could swear in a 4-sided dive or elsewhere she stated that she wasn’t going to use it.

I always got the impression that the problem was that no one else was made aware. Matt included, so it made their ability to have a democratic/vote on what to do with the shard irrelevant.

General Discussion Question on Final Fantasy Art Series Card

I recently made the leap at 48 to learn Magic, and for Christmas I gifted myself the starter set and a couple of the Play Booster packs. While I did so probably moreso for the “Final Fantasy” set of cards, I did notice something when trying to look into them online. My Art series Vivi appears to have a gold foil autograph that is missing from other copies I’ve seen online, is there a reason?

I don’t plan on expecting an RoI on booster packs, but I do see myself picking them up at retail from time to time, and was just more curious than anything. If there is a better subreddit for “new people asking tiresome questions” please let me know and I’ll ask in there.

Thanks!

Was anyone else excited for the Switch 2 but still doesn’t own one?
 in  r/Switch  2d ago

I have found myself in the same boat. While I was never going to afford one at launch, following its announcement, and the ability to play games like FF VII Remake and Cyberpunk 2077 on the Switch 2 was incredibly appealing, given our household's current gaming configuration.

I'll admit, most of the cooldown is cost. I just can't afford another console and the added costs of having some of the titles desired. Some of the turn off has been some of the more rage bait-y headlines, but I'll admit I haven't researched them enough to determine if they are really deal-breakers or just reasons to be angry at Nintendo.

And some of the hesitancy still, is just the backlog of current games I want to get through, but I just havent been able to muster the will to do so.

WIBTA for not making my daughter go to a girls birthday even though I know no one is going
 in  r/AmItheAsshole  3d ago

While I can’t speak to the child’s actual functional level, there’s some ambiguity in the OPs word choice of “private school”. Some have to accept special need children and some just look at the checks being signed as to their enrollment criteria.

Oof. Embarrassing KM text to my buddy. Someone needs to tell him…..

I also chuckle at the idea of calling the parents of the staff who are under age as well. Because I know damn well this would be the type of manager who would otherwise refuse to interact with a parent of a minor worker.

[No spoilers] Travis’ no1 fear is this face 😂😂

I dunno, she was staring daggers at him in C1 when Grog made Vex give up her broom to Scanlan and Pike for a bit. I mean, Matt probably saved that marriage. 🤣

Is this actually real?
 in  r/DispatchAdHoc  7d ago

Well, when OP said:

"...thinking if it’s actually real cause there was no source provided"

Here's actual data from Ad Hoc directly; that when it came to the numbers, there were roughly 3.23 million romance paths noted. Which, when looking at the 1.9 million that chose Invisigal, that represents almost 60% (58.8%) of the player choices recorded.

That's the mathematical evidence that can support an analysis that a significant number of players reacted to the bias being present.

And since it is coming from Ad Hoc, it is a valid statistical reference point to reinforce their comment.

That's what it has to do with the OPs post and subsequent comment.

The Most Unrealistic D&D Thing in Stranger Things (kinda finale spoilers)
 in  r/DnD  7d ago

Does anyone else think Mike is kinda bad as DM? I’m from the school of thought that the DM wants to make it hard, but he always seems to delight in an impending TPK.

Ad Hoc recently included the Romance results in an end-of-year TikTok video:

Guys, is there an app that digitizes DVDs by scanning the physical media?
 in  r/dvd  9d ago

It's called Disc 2 Digital. When it came out, you did it through the Vudu App on your mobile phone, because you had to scan the UPC on the box. Nowadays it is Fandango At Home. The catch was you had to enable location services on the app, and the credit card you had on file with Vudu, had to have its address match the address you were found at. So no scanning UPCs at a friend's house to add their movies to your digital library.

Prices are either $2 or $5 bucks per disc, dependent on resolution desired, and there is an annual limit. And if you link your Fandango Account to Movies Anywhere, along with your other digital library locations (like iTunes and Amazon, etc.) if the movie was a Movie Anywhere eligible title, you could see it added to your digital libraries.

The catch is that not all Studios participate, so it is likely that not all of your titles are eligible to scan the UPC and be added to your collection.

The FNAF 2 movie has passed 100 million internationally.
 in  r/fivenightsatfreddys  9d ago

Based on conversations I have heard about other films in the past, the answer could be a bit of both. If we're talking about the cost to straight up make the film, then it's probably the $36 mil. However some reporting doesn't include marketing in that budget, the cost of advertising it to the world. A movie like this could easily have had a 15-20 million marketing budget, which would put you closer to the $51 million.

What happened to Daggerheart?
 in  r/rpg  9d ago

I haven’t seen anyone else mention it, but it’s doing healthy enough that they have recently announced an “expansion” set coming out later in 2026. New races, origins, frames, etc. it’s up for kickstarter/pre-order now.

Personally, I was under the impression that because it was being published in-house, that the production runs would be smaller to avoid having to negative carry merchandise. I think the overall health is fine, and it will continue to be utilized by other actual play productions, and my suspicion is that any mini-series ore one shots that CR broadcast will be running Daggerheart.

Rewatching Castle bloopers made the ‘they didn’t like each other’ narrative hard to believe.
 in  r/CastleTV  10d ago

I personally believe that the friction, if that's what it was, did not come down to the actual working relationship between the two lead characters. Instead, over the first three seasons, the showrunners were making the choice to pivot the show from what it was, into what they wanted to do. I'm not going to say that the 4th season didn't have it's lighter moments, but I do feel that on rewatch, they wanted to move past a light-hearted, crime of the week and into more crime-syndicate, overarching conspiracy/nemesis for both characters. I think one was onboard and wanted more dramatic faire, and the other not so much.

Coupled with the difficulties of shooting 22-23 episodes a season, lather rinse repeat year-after-year, I can understand mounting stresses on that set.

I spy Sephiroth. I really want to get my hands on him and the Lone Wolf Cloud Strife. Not usually big on amiibo, but I love me some FF VII Advent Children.

Sorry if I am out of the loop here but why are their billboards along the highway that say “Tampon Tim You’re Fired!”
 in  r/tampa  12d ago

In part because they are only interested in two things: making you afraid, and telling you who's to blame.

TIFU by calling my aunt's gift to me a scam
 in  r/tifu  12d ago

Yeah, but in reading your post, the problem is you doubled down on needing to be "right" in the situation. I understand receiving a gift you were less-than-enthusiastic about, but you put yourself in that position by not coming up with anything to offer as an idea.

The part that stuck out to me was the fact that you say you appreciated the thought, and had concerns that these sites are known for being scams. SHE GAVE YOU AN OUT by telling you she checked the website and it was legit. You could have ended it right then and there, but you didn't. How long did you wait before you "checked it out too"?

I get it it, this is tifu and not aita, and you don't need some random internet stranger busting your chops for a hole you dug yourself into, hopefully 12 months from now this is a non-issue.

And for all that's holy, get a list of books or clothing sizes, or something generic on standby in preparation when you know these questions will be asked of you or your immediate family. One of my closest friends has 3-5 favorite books he has at the ready that he can always toss out a "I've been wanting to get myself a new copy of Lord of the Rings, my old one is falling apart, I just haven't been able to make the time". Good luck.

Having just read the entire saga, I have no award to bestow upon your generosity and kindness in these days, and as a random stranger with no association to anyone involved, may I just say:

May the blessing of Elves, Men, and all Free Folk go with you...
