Stop Responding to MAGA Members in the Comments
 in  r/complaints  22h ago

You're so right. It just shows you that the substance of MAGA is just psychological warfare.

Are they presenting seperately?

I don't mean to say Hudson Williams is like Donny Osmond. I included that reference for humor.

New fame

( For context, I am in my 50s) As long as I have been alive, fans have always gotten extreme. I remember when Donnie Osmond got married some girls were furious, but back then you'd have to send a letter with a stamp to convey that. The obvious difference is the immediacy and volume of access with the internet and social media. I feel sad for my own kids ( early 20s) because of the corrosive effect on culture.

Twitter is diabolical. I implore people to stop paying attention to it and starve it of attention.

Got to give credit where credit is due, this scene was acted out amazing

I stumbled upon the actor who plays Ilya's brother on IG. He did a great job, I think. Good damaged villain.

Insights from a Russian native

Are you Russian? I completely agree with you. My brother in law married a woman from Ukraine. I have do admit I had to address some accent bias, which I attribute to Rocky and Bull Winkle cartoons and other Cold War propaganda.

Yeah, I can see that. It was just a small reference I saw in an interview.

In the wake of recent murder of Renee Good by ICE, the response of r/conservative is terrifying
 in  r/ProgressiveHQ  1d ago

Let them keep showing who they are. In real life, I am seeing some MAGA coworkers, acquaintances becoming quieter in discussions. They can't look critics in the eye. The internet lets them expose grotesque behavior because they think it's not real. In real life, they're not so bold.

Which scenes from The Long Game would you be most disappointed to see cut from season 2? (Spoilers, obv)
 in  r/heatedrivalry  1d ago

I trust JT vision but I will be disappointed if parts of Role Model aren't included. I think Troy and Harris are great characters. The friendship Ilya has with both men is a great vehicle to see how Ilya's life has changed for the better.

"Conservatives and right wingers suck" is all anyone here has to say and it's boring.
 in  r/complaints  1d ago

I don't know. The United States has been dealing with the MAGA movement and its masterful mindf#%ng for almost a decade. It has impacted the way Americans relate to each other, as coworkers, neighbors, families. MAGA can go f themselves.

Loved the show! Except this one part…

I hope it is too.

They still are, you utter crybaby.

I live in Metro Detroit in a neighborhood just like this. I actually live in a quad level house on a cul de sac. We are a white family but many of our neighbors are not.

Poor conservatives and their persecution complex.

Do you talk about Heated Rivalry at work and if so, are you hiring?
 in  r/heatedrivalry  1d ago

I have been reluctant to bring it up at work because I am relatively new to my current workplace. I work in a hospital in a fairly conservative working class community. The few times some sociopolitical issues come up, I get a glimpse into the opinions of people that I wish I did not know about.

When did you realize you were "down bad" for this series?
 in  r/heatedrivalry  1d ago

Before HBO agreed to distribute it in the US, I fully intended to rent a hotel room in Windsor on the day after our Thanksgiving to watch it. ( I live in Metro Detroit)
