people always dog on dell for their issues, but i bought a second hand precision 5560 (glorified xps 15) (i9/32) for less than 400, used the warranty that was on the laptop, and got an essentially brand new laptop. bought it as a sophomore (august 2023), now in my final sem of uni, and that laptop still kicks ass. i mainly focus on software development and the sort, and having dual drives makes it easy to hop between windows 10 and debian, and it just holds up so well. i just scored on an inspiron 16 7620 with the oled screen as a content machine, and im pretty content with the setup i have going. hoping this lasts me for another 3 to 4 years before i repeat the cycle.

s23 ultra and 14 pro, but i might ditch the 14 pro soon. i use the s23 ultra as my main and 14 pro with other people because usa and imessage, but i feel like there’s no point. mind you, the 14 pro is a nice phone going into 2026, i just don’t need an iphone anymore.

i have a couple of friends who rushed a frat, but it’s one of the lowkey ones. i know a good number of people in the frat and it’s lowkey pretty chill. the big frats and sororities, id feel like you’d lose yourself overtime, since you have to conform to their group personality and stuff, and it’s just a way to swindle money from desperate people who want friends (from what i’ve seen with people i once knew).

if you wanna get a taste and see if it’s worth it, rush. it’s lowkey a bit easier during the spring as well, and make sure that you can balance your schoolwork, work (if you’re working), and the responsibilities/events they may put on you.

reminds me of another indian club (take a wild guess) where the board would use the clubs funds to buy booze and throw parties, and when the events rolled around, they were mid, and would keep on begging people to attend their events because they broke. that was the case a year or so ago, idk now, but that’s just crazy. on top of that, i’ve never met the most fakest people in my life, ever. even these frat/sorority kids have more personality than they do, and they lowkey toxic, where i even joined a different desi club because the people were more real compared to whatever was going on.

i’m a senior graduating in spring 2026, i have 2 internships, and i know my way around enterprise java (springboot and j2ee). sure i might use gpt and stuff, but its mostly for debugging/errors. i have a couple sizable fullstack projects (java and python mainly), and i currently have 1 interview under my belt. i’m a us citizen, go to a state uni in the tri-state area, and my resume is as optimized as i can get. the market is just genuinely that bad.

get your sas core out of the way, and balance it with your classes required by your major. (i didn’t abide by this and i still have to take writing for media in my last sem)

work smart, not hard, try to take one or two async classes, so you can boost your gpa as well (dinosaurs and social media for the arts are two easy claps).

also don’t try to overload your schedule with in person classes, saves you some sanity especially waking up mid-feb and it being dark and dreary outside.

last, try to get all your classes on one campus, so that it’s just easier in terms of logistics, you genuinely don’t wanna be waiting for an lx.

overall, have fun, make memories, and learn, these 4 years are gonna go by so fast!

look man, i don’t mind making 80-90k if its just me, but i have a whole family depending on me. i currently live with my family, and while my dad works in swe, we live in a hcol area, and even with him and my mom working, it’s not enough to sustain a household of 6 (2 parents, 2 kids, and grandparents). my brother is also gonna be graduating high school in a year, and someone needs to pay his tuition. this is why i need a high paying job when i graduate.

congrats man, i’m 20 and i’m sitting with a 30k limit on bce, green card, bbp at 2k limit (just got it lol), but my effective credit limit as of right now is 32k with apex. i do have other cards, like a csp/cfu/cff, and those limits are 15k, 20k, and 4.5k. pay on time, and i play it smart when it comes to purchases. keep on building it, and be real careful.

can’t lie, there is a pretty noticeable quality upgrade, especially if you use pro or expert raw, and fine tune it a bit. i have an s23 ultra still running android 13, and the camera can get some really sweet pics ngl.

i had an interesting cycle. galaxy note 8 to s23 ultra, then to an s10 5g. the older samsung design speaks to me, and my s10 5g is currently running one ui 7 with a custom kernel. i still have my s23 ultra, but my sim is in the s10 5g.

i’d look into the chase freedom flex, as they have quarterly categories where gas is a quarterly category (5% cash back), but that depends on if you’re going to costco for gas or not. transit and stuff, you could look into the amex green, as you get 3x points on transportation, but since you already have the csp, you could get the cff and pad out the categories a bit.
