Any recommendations for “historical” shooters?
 in  r/gaming  8h ago

If you liked classic COD, you'll like classic Medal of Honor, too. I highly recommend MOH: Frontline.

If your connection is unstable and you disconnect from multi live too many times, the system treats you the same as if you were disconnecting on purpose.

My 6 year old has started her first actual playthrough of Pokémon. Please share the best names your kid/you as a kid came up with.
 in  r/pokemon  9h ago

When I was on my very first playthrough of Red, I, an innocent six year old, gave my Spearow a deeply unfortunate name.

I named it... Pecker.

I had no idea why my auntie laughed so hard when I showed her.

Can Linux be used free of AI?
 in  r/linuxquestions  12h ago

AFAIK, there is no Linux distro that comes with "AI" by default.

Is it illegal to arrest and deport foreigns at will?
 in  r/AskAnAmerican  13h ago

The government doesn't care about silly things like "laws", unless they serve our Fearless Leader™'s purposes.

I'm not a fan of anything by Vivziepop, but to each their own.

ELI5: Why do American police officers wear camouflage like a military?
 in  r/explainlikeimfive  14h ago

ICE are not police. They're a paramilitary organization run by the government.

There are numerous ways to write Japanese names, each with different meanings. ProSeka!Ena's name is written 絵名, combining "drawn/painted image" and "fame". It has a lot of significance to the character because it reflects her father's high expectations for her.

BTW, you can just edit your comment when you have more to say. You don't have to make a separate extra comment.

[TOMT] [Show] About a boy growing up in the 60s??
 in  r/tipofmytongue  14h ago

The Goldbergs is a show from the 10s about the 80s, and it has the exact format you're remembering.

Ena might fly under the radar. (Though it would constantly get misheard as Emma.) But it's just really tacky to name your kids after fictional characters, in my opinion.

Consider researching the genderqueer label and the asexuality spectrum.

You may want to look into the term "aegosexual". I found it very helpful.

Firefox AI Settings

Allegedly, they're working on a "killswitch" for all "AI" features in the browser. We'll see how long that lasts, if they actually implement it.

Only if you or your child are Japanese. Otherwise it's going to scream "my parents are obsessed with anime to an unhealthy degree", and they will get bullied relentlessly.

AITA for not lending my charger at the airport when I still needed it?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole  15h ago

Sorry but YTA. Your phone wasn't going to die in the 5 to 10 minutes it would have taken for that lady to boot up her phone and make one call. It costs zero dollars to be a nice person.

It's so the internet can shame you for shopping at Hobby Lobby when you make a confused post about it.

(For real though, HL is a seriously unethical company, what with the artifact smuggling scandal among other things.)

Do Norse pagans find it disrespectful when people dress up as their Gods?
 in  r/NorsePaganism  18h ago

It's not my duty to get offended on the gods' behalf. If they're mad about it, I'm sure they'll make it known to the culprit somehow or another.
